💨🌪️Status Red Wind Warning Friday 24th 🌪️💨

Ennis Veterinary Clinic will remain CLOSED during the status red warning in place tomorrow. We will open again as soon as it is safe to do so and will update this page.
For any emergencies for our registered clients during this time, our phones lines will give you details of our emergency cover in Limerick Night Vets, Henry St. Their number is 061 314203.

Please please keep all pets indoors during this storm. It has potential to cause serious damage to anyone out in it. When letting dogs out to toilet keep them on a lead at all times even if you think your garden is secure as fencing can become easily damaged and pets can spook.
Stay safe everyone 🩵

This very sweet little lady was handed into the clinic this morning. Someone must be missing her as she is the sweetest most affectionate little girl! I would say she is young, probably less than a year old, with very distinctive markings and a lovely sparkly blue and purple collar. Going from other posts on Facebook she appeared to have been in Bodyke yesterday and made her way to Ennis overnight so not sure fully where she may be missing from. If you own her or know who does please get in touch with the clinic on 065-6797444 or email [email protected]. Proof of ownership required!

❤️PLEASE KEEP YOUR PETS SAFE❤️
Storm Darragh has now been upgraded to a red level warning. Please keep all pets secure indoors. If they have to go outside keep them on a secure leash and collar/harness and check all gates and fencing in the garden before letting them out again.
It is also a good opportunity to check and make sure your pets microchip details are up to date.
Stay safe everyone!

⚠️🔴STATUS RED WARNINGS NOW IN PLACE

⚠️🔴STORM DARRAGH IS A RISK TO LIFE EVENT

⚠️🔴WIND UP TO 170KM/H POSSIBLE FOR SOME

👍👍WHATSAPP 0879723300 FOR MORE INFO

Status Red warnings have officially be issued for Clare, Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal, with further upgrades to other areas very much possible as we go through the afternoon and evening hours.

Storm Darragh is a risk to life weather event with widespread damage and disruption likely in the aforementioned areas and with further damage likely in the areas under a Status Orange weather warning.

As predicted a number of days ago now here on Irelands Weather Channel, Storm Darragh, has the potential to be the strongest storm witnessed since Hurricane Ophelia in 2017, and on par with Storm Darwin of 2014.

Please secure any lose objects over the coming hours, have batteries or candles on standby in the event of power failures, refrain from travelling during the warning times tonight and generally stay up to date with the latest weather warnings.

If you need any further information please WhatsApp me on 0879723300 or comment below and I’ll do my very best to get back to you with a response. Thank you for your continued support and well wishes here.

Sadly we have had a deceased cat handed into the clinic. Neutered male, tabby and white, very big and looks well looked after like a pet. No microchip. He was found around Rosleaven in Millbank. If you think this cat may be yours please contact the clinic.

One of our patients had a very lucky escape this week after a play session turned into an emergency when this ball got lodged in her throat. 🎾
Luckily her fast acting owners got her in just in time and we could get the ball dislodged!

When choosing a toy for your dog please make sure it is not too small for them, it should be larger than their maximum jaw span when open. Always err on the side of caution and give toys that might seem too big rather than too small!

A very kind couple have just dropped in an, unfortunately, deceased, black & white female cat. Cat was in the Lahinch Road area; near newly built houses, & between the two petrol stations. Cat has stubby tail & seems to have been well cared for. If this may be your cat, or you know whose cat it may be, please contact the clinic on 065 6797444.

Over the past couple of weeks there seems to be a nasty case of gastroenteritis going around the Canine Community in Ennis and the surrounds.
If you think your dog may have picked up this bug, getting supportive care early is important for a speedy recovery, so please don’t delay in coming to see us in Ennis Vet Clinic.
Signs and symptoms to watch out for are :
▪️Vomiting
▪️Diarrhoea - especially containing blood or mucus
▪️Loss of appetite
▪️Lethargy
▪️Dehydration

Most healthy pets are quick to recover from this with some supportive care and medication but young puppies, older pets and those with underlying health conditions may be particularly vulnerable.

Please contact us on 065-6797444 if you are at all worried about your pet 💙

This little cutie, Jake, was in with us recently for a regular dental COHAT, and he was enjoying all the nurse cuddles and was snug as a bug after his procedure!
When your pet is in for a dental, they are placed under a full general anaesthetic. This allows us to safely and painlessly examine your pets teeth, including full dental x-rays, a scale and polish of all teeth, and an assessment by the vet to determine if any further treatment is needed.
Once they have come around from their anaesthetic they are given plenty of TLC and extra cuddles by all the nurses!
We recommend yearly dentals to prevent dental disease and keep your pets teeth in tip top shape 🦷🦷
