It just started!!

Our upcoming online auction is just around the corner, starting on Friday, the 16th of August, at the earlier time of 8 pm. The auction will conclude on Sunday, the 18th of August, at 8 pm.

We are excited to present some fantastic auction items, and all proceeds raised will directly support the animals under the care of our dedicated kennel and cattery teams.

We as always offer a trap rental scheme from our Galway office for those of you looking to avail of this offer to neuter the more shy cats in your community.

We only have a certain number of traps so we ask that you again are patient and also punctual in returning the traps as their will be others waiting.

Galway Cat Rescue , MADRA - Mutts Anonymous Dog Rescue and Adoption & The Galway SPCA are pleased to launch Galway’s First

Animal Welfare Social in the Galway Bay Hotel on Saturday 18th May.

This Gala Fur Ball will be a chance to fundraise & socialise in style whilst also providing a platform to highlight the ongoing work of Animal Welfare charities in our City & County.

It will be a celebration of the work of all the volunteers & vet teams that are involved in the provision of care to these animals day in and day out.

We're looking to hire a part-time Kennel Assistant for our dog sanctuary in Killimor, County Galway. Please SHARE this post and TAG anyone who may be interested🐕

The person we seek must be passionate about dogs and their care, be resilient and prepared to work in all weathers. A lot of the work is outdoors, which is obviously amazing on a warm summer’s day, but quite different in the winter and so any candidate must be prepared for this. You must be flexible too and a great team player – a good fit to our existing team is essential.

You will be involved with and play a central role in the care of the dogs: this will involve many aspects, from walking to cleaning out the kennels, helping with feeding, grooming, etc and socialisation. You will work with the Kennel Manager to help ensure the smooth running of the kennels.

Ideally, you will have previous experience of working with animals, preferably with dogs. An absolute bonus would be if the right candidate has any qualifications in this field, though not necessary. Training on all aspects of the job will be provided. Salary will be in line with industry standards.

THE PERSON:
- Resilient and able to work on their own and as part of a team
- Patient and caring
- Good eye for detail
- Passionate about animal care
- Good communicator
- Enthusiastic
- Needs to possess waterproofs and boots!

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Be able to be discrete and keep matters confidential
- Qualification in animal behaviour, etc a bonus but not necessary
- Knowledge of the charity sector would also be a bonus, but not necessary
- Own transport essential to be able to get to the sanctuary

We are appealing for help with any sightings of this brindle lurcher around the Athenry /Monivea area please ...

He was near Cartymore Cross/Peakroe area last night at 11pm walking on the verge ....

He is scared and will run so at this stage we are just asking for sightings/time etc ..

If by any chance he does enter an enclosed area /garden/shed etc and can be safely contained ,then please contact Emma on 087 2765690 asap day or night .

Entry is €3 per class but you can enter two classes for €5. Rosettes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each class with the winner of each class going forward to compete for the Best in Show title.

Registration for classes will open at 12 with the show starting at 1pm.
