Congratulations to Paul who won a hamper we raffled in aid of wildlife and rehabilitation Ireland. It’s a charity that helps rescue and treat wildlife in Ireland. Bounty picked the winning ticket ❤️ 😉
This is the lovely Mary tucking into some lunch after her procedure this week. You can even hear her happy purrs if you turn the volume up 😻 Mary ended up with gravy all over her face, but she says it was worth it for the yummy food.
Lette was a very good girl for her dental today, check out the before and after pics. 🦷 ✨ Thanks to her owner for allowing us share these pics, sometimes a good before and after is just the encouragement you need to book in to get what’s needs doing, done 👏🏻
Did you know your furry friend asked us to wish you Happy Valentine’s Day when they visited us??! Let us know in the comments if you spot your Valentine 🥰 🐈 🐕
A lovely louse on a cat recently.
Can you spot his friend running along a hair? These guys are tiny. Can see them if you look carefully - recognisable with their yellow and brown colouring. Feeling itchy anyone? 😅
Are you a Rabbit 🐇 owner? Here are some summer tips to keep them HOPPY (sorry we couldn’t resist 🤣)
This little dancing lad is a demodex mite! Can you see his legs move? 🙀
Demodex mites occur naturally in your dogs skin. They get them from their mothers and although they are a mite, they are a normal hitch-hiker unlike sarcoptic mites which cause scratchy mange.
These guys occasionally on some pets like to party and with too many of them it can cause skin issues and hair loss. Thankfully these days there are easy treatments and they are kept at a level that they don’t cause any trouble! Imagine that your dog has these and until now you had absolutely no idea! You can thank me later 😆

We know you love to know exactly what happens your little loved one when they are visiting us here in Barna & Moycullen Vet Clinics!
Here you can see Vet Maria doing a scale and Polish on this lovely dog.
Luckily, for some, she showed us a clean tooth, but we know there will be some of you out there that would like to see a dirty tooth being cleaned.
Give us a 👍🏻 to see a dirty tooth and a 👎🏻 If you’ve seen enough ☺️
From rags to riches !

RíRá came into us in early August - delivered by a kind member of the public . He was in miserable condition and had multiple injuries. We guessed at the time that he may have been in a car engine or had some other sort of large trauma. He had no use of his left fore leg which hung uselessly. His tail had been dislocated giving it an interest few bumps ! His breathing was laboured. 😞
He recuperated with us here in the clinic over the coming weeks and we ran various tests and xrays to assess him.
Too small and not yet able for surgery to amputate his leg he got a lucky break when a lovely local family decided to adopt him. ❤️
He settled in brilliantly and was back to have his operation and is recovering well, with his loving family!
Cases like these take a lot of work, care, time and money. Thanks to Galway Cat Rescue for supporting the cost of his care and to the vets and nurses in our clinic who looked after him here ( and in their homes!) and to his new adoptive family.
It takes a team to get little guys like this back on their feet! We’ll done to everyone! RíRá is a lucky boy!

Congrats to seal rescue Ireland who released two seals in salthill today. Originally found in salthill and kinvara as young hungry pups they were released today following a rehabilitation period.
Good luck to them both!!
DOG FRENCHIES!
My little boy and dog are great friends but did you know if that dog worms happen to find themselves in a human they can often wander to the heart or eye!
This video of them reminds me of the HUGE importance of worming dogs monthly that have close contact with children - yes that's EVERY MONTH! Although supervision of interactions at a young age is always advisable sometimes 'frenchies' happen and I just breathe a sigh of relief that Minnie was wormed the previous week. Dog roundworms can cause heart and eye problems in children or adults as they wander from the intestine when not in a dog. We advise monthly worming to prevent eggs being present to allow transfer of these nasties as they only take 35 days to reproduce! And remember to use a wormer that works - talk to your vet!
Same advice goes for all us adults that hug, kiss or have their pets on their beds!
