On Monday we lost 2 amazing beautiful dogs 💔💔
Popperz Pig and Chicken 🩵🩷
Many of you will know Pig as the Lough Bo secretary who retired due to ill health , well we fought that battle for nearly 3 years but on Sunday the battle he fought was getting so hard on him , we never knew on Sunday we would lose the Boss of the whole place on Monday too , my heart is totally broken 💔 I have dedicated the last couple of years to them , always putting them first to make sure they were happy and comfortable, I had 1 night away in 3 years but these 2 were never away from home , I think Chicken for a night in the vets many years ago . We now just have our beautiful Orca who has never been a lone dog and it's so hard , Pig adored him as did Chicken but every night the two boys snuggled together 🩵💙

While all the dogs in the kennels were sound asleep this was going on outside above the building , we had an amazing display from the house and garden , we did wonder if dogs can see Northern Lights like we do , mine certainly had no reaction but were probably a bit miffed at still being up at 11.30 , way past their bedtime , if you got pics post below we'd love to see them 🩷💜🩵❤️💚

Just recently some customers beloved pets have passed away 💔
We want you to know that we feel your pain and are heartbroken too , it's hard to know we will never see those amazing boys again and that makes us sad , they had amazing lives with you , sooooo loved 💙🩵 such happy boys who both loved their holidays
Ozzy and Moose sleep tight sweethearts and our love goes to your families and a big thank you too for sharing your beautiful boys with us 💔💙🩵🩷💜

A leopard 🐆 can't change it's spots but the Lough Bo Boarding Kennels car can 🩷💜
We never liked the spots on the car for the last 5 years so in October I got spots made ( thank you Ballast Signs ) but had to wait for good weather to put them on as nobody wanted the job ( I don't blame them , getting the old spots and glue off was a nightmare) but 3 days later with great help from Poppy yesterday to help me finish it off we have a car with new spots and I love it 🩷💜 I'm really pleased how it came out never having done anything like this before , keep a look out for us out and about 🟣🩷🟣

I started re spotting the kennels at the weekend , just need to do the top part next time we have a sunny day , you can see the old spots through the white paint at a distance but when stood close to paint you no longer see them , I've changed it slightly this year and done some bigger spots , Chicken as always is my inspiration 🩷

The beautiful bride Saoirse and husband Adrian had their adorable Golden Retriever Lacey attend for wedding photos yesterday , it has to be said Lacey is the most amazing girl and behaved so well for her nights boarding before the big day , we were a bit worried when she immediately went in the swimming pool but I found that she loved the blaster ( grooming hairdryer ) on the day of the wedding she had a good play , I gave her a dry off before she
went and she was so good getting in the vehicle and whilst driving. When we arrived I hopped in the back with her to give her a fluff up before photos .
Aren't they a gorgeous family 😍

We have had some strange requests for boarding over the years but ...
I volunteer for Seal Rescue Ireland , as a trained volunteer it means I can help seals in need of rescuing off a beach , transportation and if need be having them stay the night if we can't get any forward transport 🦭
I have an area separated off in the stables for when I'm making Orca outfits and this is where this beauty spent the night , it's perfect as they can't get warm , do really smelly poos and can give a very hard bite so sadly it's not able to join us indoors , I got to see behaviours I wouldn't see when on a beach or a transportation box , rubbing her face , scratching her chest , fanning flippers out , trying to get in that classic banana pose and sleeping so contentedly , it was a truly amazing experience and hard to drag myself away from last night . Today I drove her to Longford to meet the lady driving her to the sanctuary , she was certainly our most unusual overnight guest 🦭💜😍
Safe rehab little one , any of you who know me will know how hard I found it to part even after 14 hours in this ones company but she will have a hopefully long and healthy life being a big Grey Seal 🖤

Well what a day to open after holidays , the tree came down last night just up from us blocking our road off completely, we lost electric at 5 and they are saying it won't be back on until lunchtime on Wednesday and then our phones went too , luckily these came back around 11am this morning.
Our builders worked very hard to get the jobs done in time for today and we have new windows , walls and lots of insulation to keep the kennels extra toasty .
Our first customer this morning had to stop on the other side of the tree and Stuart crawled back under with Bonnie , then as soon as light enough he cut the tree out the road with the help of a passerby who was trying to drive to work and every way he went was blocked with fallen trees , so a big thank you to him , we now hear another storm is due tomorrow, I think I need to hibernate 😅

Orca is really enjoying the kennels being shut as he gets to play in there too , he is so funny and keeping me well entertained while building work is going on . Looking forward to seeing some of you from next Monday onwards , summer is getting booked and we hope the swimming pool will gets lots of use again this year
When you book your holiday book your pets at the same time to avoid disappointment, and please make sure all vaccines are fully up to date . Orca is vying for secretary position but I'm sure this is only as he wants the decaf coffee at break time 😅

We would like to wish you all a happy and healthy 2024 , we have had great fun with your pets this past year , with our regulars , meeting lots of new ones and sadly missing all that have gone to Rainbow Bridge 💔🌈 one of our regular girls Megan was only yesterday so our thoughts are with Orla today and Blue was just before Christmas day so our thoughts are with Michael too , we will miss both your beautiful girls so very much 💔 it's hard to lose them any time of year but I think Christmas time is so tough 💜
We will be seeing in the new year like Sticky , Elmo , Popperz Pig and Orca fast asleep !! ( Chicken was getting treats while all around were snoozing 🥭🥦🫑)
We look forward to seeing all your lovely pets in 2024 🎉🐾🐱🐶🐰🐹

Well it's cold out there and the swimming pool is frozen , Morgan is a great fan of the water but it seems ice is just as good for him , he has a heat lamp on for when he goes back in to keep him cosy 😊
