👉Simple grid to improve RIDEABILITY and achieve a ROUNDER JUMP!
⬆️Save the exercise!⬆️
⏩ LEVEL:
🟠 Medium
⏩ SET UP:
2 poles, 2 cavallettis, 1 oxer
⏩ AIM:
The goal is to increase your horse's attention,
rideability between jumps and achieve an improved bascule over the fence. Thanks to the bounces at the beginning of the exercise, your horse will need to act quickly and will be more aware of his front end over the final oxer.
⏩ PRO TIP:
The set-up of the exercise does the majority of the work. You should focus on entering the exercise with a good rhythm and balanced horse and be soft on the bounces. During the 3 strides you have to keep regularity in the stride, making sure your horse is listening to your aids. Once in front of the oxer's placing pole keep the weight in your heels, look in front of you, applying a little pressure with your legs. Over the oxer give your hands to the mouth and keep a balanced seat, in order to encourage a free and correct jumping movement from your horse. The final fence will test the work done through the exercise!
⏩ FURTHER DIRECTIONS:
Depending on the horse's experience and skills, the height of the fences might vary.
Especially when riding a younger or less experienced horse, you should take it slowly and gradually develop your grid. You don't want to overwhelm the horse right first, so go slow and steady in order to let your horse build confidence. Make sure you also allow your horse to take frequent breaks: this will not only be a physical benefit, but above all a mental one.

👉Develop a more adjustable and elastic canter!
⏏️Save the exercise!⏏️
⏩LEVEL:
🟡Medium
⏩SET UP:
🔷1 line down the central line, including:
1 plank
2 oxers
🔷1 vertical on the diagonal
⏩AIM:
The aim of this exercise is to develop a more adjustable and elastic canter, while maintaining a round and balanced jump. Responsiveness to your aids is crucial, as well as practicing jumping with a collected as well as an extended canter. For a jumper, a canter which isn't adjustable can result in faults or even stops

⏩PRO TIP:
This exercise combines different difficulties. The first one is the tight turn towards the line, whose first jump is a plank. We will have to ride it with a balanced seat and leaving space to the plank. After, we find the 3 strides, which will result rather long considering the tight turn. Before jumping the first oxer, however, we will have to think about collecting and restoring balance, as 4 collected strides await us. Remember not to pull back with your hands when you ride the second part of the line, instead use your aids gradually. The 4 strides should eventually come out even.
⏩FURTHER DIRECTIONS: The distance of the short 4 strides should be adjusted according to your and your horse's level, from 16 mt to 17.5 mt for an easier version. Start off at a medium height and do not raise the fences until both parts of the line come out with an even stride. Finish off this exercise with a single vertical taken on a rather lengthened canter. This is crucial because after collecting we want to make the horse perform a jump on a normal and relaxed canter

Why bounces?
• To train your horse's ability to think quick and work fast
• To improve the balance and reflexes of the rider
•To make a horse who tends to sprint through a course slow down
So there's is absolutely no reason not to implement this in your training 😎👍

TIP OF THE WEEK !!! ✔️
Why should you implement Swedish oxer in your training? ✩ This type of networking will train your horse's straightness and technique! The ❌ ox will help your horse to jump straight, holding attention to the center of the jump. The higher sides encourage the horse to lift the legs higher Polos allow you to focus on your step to the first post, and then you can focus on your technique and let the poles do their work!
