Castlebridge Equestrian is a showjumping and livery yard based just outside Johnstownbridge, Kildare

At Castlebridge Equestrian we pride ourselves in providing custom, top-quality services to our client’s and always work with the horse’s interest at heart. This establishment has been in operation since 1988 and is a result of two generations of the Kavanagh family experience and passion for the sport. We specialize and provide services in the following areas: livery, coaching, breaking, training

and producing of both young and older horses. We develop the horses through various national leagues such as the ISH Studbook classes and National Grand Prix leagues, dependent on the horses age and potential. We are now located in our newly built facility just outside Johnstownbridge in Co Kildare. This facility comprises of 2 large American style barns, horse walker, top quality surfaced sand arena, wash bay and numerous turn out paddocks. Currently we care for approximately 50 horses (5 brood mares, 10 foals, 30 liveries and 4-privately owned top prospect horses). Over the years we have produced and sold horses which have gone on to compete at the top level of the sport.

‘Castlebridge Logan’ and Sean competing in the first of the 6 Year Old qualifiers this morning.

They had a lovely clear first round but a very unlucky pole in the jump off kept them out of the qualifying places. Logan jumped super and we are thrilled with him. We wish them the best of luck tomorrow as they take on the second qualifier. 🤞

We would also like to say good luck to Stevo who competes tomorrow in the first qualifier of the 5 Year Olds with ‘Smalltown Boy IV’. 💪🍀

Stephen Holland and ‘Smalltown Boy IV’ in action this morning in the 5 year old Horse Sport Ireland Young Horse Production class at Barnadown Showjumping.

The combination jumped a brilliant double clear with a good enough time to take 6th place. 💪👏

The gelding by Goodluck VDL is in great form ahead of the Dublin Horse Show in two weeks time. 🤞

Sean Kavanagh and ‘Castlebridge Logan’ had a brilliant clear round today in the final leg of the 6 Year Old ISH Studbook class in Tattersalls. 👏

The combination were quick enough to take 2nd place and have qualified for tomorrows final.

‘Castle Lux Clover’ had a lovely clear round in the 1.20 and took 6th place in the 1.30.

‘Carousel Gold’ was in great form winning the 1.20 class. 🥇

‘Castlebridge Logan’ and Sean in action in the 6 Year Old IRISH SPORT HORSE Studbook Final in Maryville on Sunday.

The gelding by Tolan R had 3 clear rounds over the two days in the class and we are delighted with him. ⭐️

‘Carousel Gold’ had a brilliant round in the 1.40 National Grand Prix, unfortunately a rub at the last fence kept her out of the jump off.

‘Castle Lux Clover’ was clear in the 1.25 Mini Grand Prix and had another brilliant clear in the 1.35 Grand Prix on Saturday.

A big thanks to Maryville Stables for running a great show over the weekend with great facilities. 👍

It was a great day at the office for Sean and Stevo on Saturday at the Five Stars Tour in Mullingar Equestrian

Kate Bracken’s ‘Kovali K’ and Stevo were 2nd in the 2* and went on to have a very quick double clear in the 3* taking first place. 🥇🥈

In the 4*, Sean took the winning spot with ‘Carousel Gold’. He was also 5th with ‘Castle Lux Clover’ and 6th with ‘Castlebridge Logan’. 🙌🏆

To top off the day, in the 5* Sean took the top 3 placings with ‘Carousel Gold’ in the lead, ‘Castle Lux Clover’ taking 2nd place and ‘Castlebridge Logan’ in 3rd. 🥇🥈🥉

A massive well done to Sean and Stevo and to all of our owners. A big thanks to the Five Star Tour for running a great show as always. 👍😊

Our very own Kate Bracken took ‘Kovali K’ to Emerald Equestrian today for the Linda Moore Showjumping league and put on a brilliant performance. 🤩 The combination had two superb clear rounds giving them 2nd place in both of their classes. 🥈

And that’s a wrap for 2023. 🙌🥳 We have had an incredible year and we could not have done it without the incredible support from all of our friends, family and loyal customers. We would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year & we look forward to seeing what 2024 brings. 🤩
