Unfortunately monsters like this woman are still at large, back yard breeding and abusing animals on a daily basis. We need better laws in this country. We need to make a stand. Enough is enough. 🐾

This woman is appealing after her heinous actions. If she had done same to humans she would be locked up with no release in sight but because they are dogs it doesn't matter as much.

Sign this petition and make a stand for all the dogs in Ireland currently victims of abuse at the hands of humans.

404 signatures are still needed! Deny Anne Brodericks "Priority Status" Appeal at Mallows District Court

What kind of coat does your dog have?

There are many different types of coats that your dog can have and the type of coat will influence the type of care that they need.

Your dog can have a
⭐ double coat (this means an undercoat and an outer coat. This covers most breeds and these are the big shedders)

⭐ Single coat (just one single coat. No undercoat. These also shed. NO SUCH THING AS A NON SHEDDING BREED APART FROM HAIRLESS DOGS. But single coated breeds do shed considerably less than double coated breeds)

If you have a mix between a single coated breed like a Poodle or Bichon and a double coated breed like a Cocker Spaniel, Cavalier, Golden Retriever or Labrador it is highly highly likey that your dog has a double coat rather than a single coat.

🐾 Examples of different types of coats 🐾

🦴 Smooth Coat - Rottweiler
🦴 Wiry Coat - Cairn Terrier
🦴 Curly Coat - Bichon (Single)
- Irish Water Spaniel (Double)
🦴 Short Coat - Corgi
🦴 Long Hard Coat - Papillon or Sheltie
🦴 Silky - Yorkie (Single)
- Afgan Hound (Double)

As you can see there are many different types of coats. Knowing your dogs type can make everything so much easier for you and your dog.

So type of coat does your dog have?

Oscar is a Border Collie and has a smooth medium/ long length, double coat.

7 Reasons why grooming is essential for your dogs health & Wellbeing 🐾
🌟1. Ventilates their skin & coat -
Grooming ensures that your dog's skin can breathe. It controls and keeps down the levels of grease, dirt and debris that can build up. Too much grease can block pores and cause skin irritations or problems. Brushing removes the dead hair, stimulates new growth which will increase the natural oils in their skin and coat.

🌟2. Reduces the risk of infections -
Regular grooming can reduce the risk of eye, ear, nail skin and teeth infections. All these areas are taken care of during a grooming session. Some breeds can be prone to more infections than others such as pugs with eye infections and Cocker spaniels and ear infections but regular grooming can keep these at bay and reduce the infection rate. Grooming can also detect the early signs of infection which can prevent it from developing further.

🌟3. Prevent Fleas & Ticks -
Bathing your dog will prevent flea or tick infestations. Regularing grooming means you will be able to spot them quickly and treat the problem efficiently. Certain products can also be used to help to repel these parasites.

🌟4. Prevents Matting & Discomfort -
Grooming helps to prevent your dog’s hair from matting. This is especially important in long-haired breeds. This matting can cause pulling on the skin which can then cause discomfort and pain for the dog. Matting also traps moisture causing bacteria to build up. This can be painful causing hotspots and other skin problems.

🌟5. Protects feet & joints
Proper care of the dog’s paws is very important. If left overgrown the nails on a dog cause a lot of pain and discomfort. Dogs will find it hard and painful to walk. This will put pressure on their joints. It can cause bone deformations and arthritis if left untreated. Proper foot care must be provided in order to prevent any long-term damage.

🌟6. Early detection of abnormalities
Because your groomer is hands on with the dog they will be able to spot changes or abnormalities on the dog's body. This can be vital to the dog’s overall health and wellbeing.

🌟7. Pamper Time
Dogs enjoy social interaction and the hands approach. Many dogs enjoy the one to one attention from a human. This is good for their confidence and mental wellbeing.

♦️She was 18. Her people, who loved her whole life, took her, a vaccination booklet, a leash, a collar and her belongings and took her to the Baldwin Park shelter. They said they were tired of fighting with an older dog, signed papers and left, without even looking at her.

When she was picked up by a volunteer at the shelter, she leaned on him probably wishing it was all just an ugly dream. The moment was immortalized by photographer John Hwang, who was in the shelter at the time.

Unfortunately, dogs love sincerely, with all their heart, with all their soul and are unable to understand that human 'love forever' most often has an expiration date.. - to annual, to moving, to illness, to old age...

Dogs definitely deserve better peopleπŸ’”

Hi, Penny here.
I'm dreaming of my own forever home for 2023.
I'm 18 months old, with the coolest markings. Black and white speckles with brown flecks on my legs.
I am a very bright , active girl looking for an energetic person or family to go on adventures with.
I am house and crate trained, good in the car and lead trained.
I'm very affectionate with people and love cuddles.
Good with other dogs but not great with cats, poultry or livestock.
Keeping my paws crossed in hope.
Love Penny. Xx
