Here at muddy paws we are getting ready for reopening. The safety of our clients is our number one priority. To prepare for reopening I have completed a covid-19 safety course for professional groomers. I am looking forward to hopefully seeing you all soon.

As the list of customers looking for Appointments is building up I will remind you all of the parasite policy here at muddy paws. If a dog comes in with an infestation your appointment will be cancelled straight away and you will be asked to bring your dog home. If this happens your dog will be placed back to the end of the waiting list with no exceptions. To avoid this please treat your dog prior to us reopening in June. Parasite treatments should only be purchased in a vets as the other products will not be effective. Your pet doesn’t have to be in direct contact with another pet to get fleas, they can get them in the environment. Please be aware as it is flea and tick season.

I hope everyone is well and staying safe. Muddy paws grooming studio will reopen when it is safe to do so. I have been getting a number of messages and calls from people wanting to book their dogs in for a groom. I have made a list of people waiting to be booked in so if you are looking to get your dog booked in for a groom when this is over please PM me to get your name on the list as I will be booked out for a few weeks after lock down the way things are going 🙂 any dogs that were previously booked in for the months of March and April that had to be cancelled will be prioritised and booked in first. I hope to see you all soon 😊

I hope everyone is staying safe and enjoying spending time with their fur babies. Muddy paws will be closed for an extended period due to today’s announcement. If anyone needs advice on washing or brushing their dog at home don’t be afraid to give me a text 🙂 please don’t forget to brush your fur babies daily, especially areas such as their tail, ears and underarms and belly to avoid matting as it can be very uncomfortable for your pet. I look forward to seeing you all in the future. To bring a bit of positivity to this post here is a picture of bailey and Marley enjoying the sun and the extra walks. 😁 stay safe ❤️

Can your pets catch and spread the coronavirus? ⚠️

There is currently no evidence to suggest our companion animals are a source of spread or can become sick from the virus. Therefore, there is no justification for the abandonment of pets that we are hearing of over social media.. 😢

In a time like this, we of course all need to be careful and practice good hygiene. We must follow guidelines and watch for updates. Although there has been one case where a dog in Hong Kong (who was exposed to the illness through his sick owners) was testing weak positive for the virus, the dog itself was symptomless and there is no proof that they were then able to spread the disease.

Please encourage other pet owners to be sensible. Practice good hygiene. But do not panic and abandon or rehome your pets! 😢COVID-19 is a human to human viral infection. There are more studies being conducted to rule out the animal to human spread, so keep a look out for these updates. If you contract the virus, it might be safe to have someone else care for your animals until you are better.

That time of year again! Every year pets get spooked by fireworks and escape! Please make sure your pet is inside and secure before it gets dark. If your pet is outside make sure it’s secure and can’t get out. It’s always good to put a collar and id tag on your pet Incase they get out and please make sure your pet is microchipped.
