What a great day we've had at Hummingbird Alpacas today. Our first National Alpaca day has exceeded all expectations and it's a big thanks to all who helped put this fabulous day together. Stephen and Jamie Croke and their phenomenal alpacas - absolute stars - all of them; Joe Barry and Dinny Phelan who put on a great vintage car and tractor display - a real boys toys thing.Stella Dalton who was a gem in organising the refreshments and Eileen Norris ably assisting;Jimmy Dalton who was the workhorse and was absolutely amazing. Estimates show around 140 very satisfied public- excited kids, awed adults, smiles abounding, and it was a really happy day for everybody. To the public who supported us and turned out to celebrate the alpaca, thank you. It was lovely to share our beautiful animals and farm with you for a few hours.
To all the other alpaca farms /owners in Ireland, no matter how big or small you are, do yourself a favour and get on board next year because the outstanding success and responses we have had today can only increase the alpacas in Ireland profile. A big big positive for us and our alpacas - and they behaved impeccably for a change!

It's finally here! Our big day - and not before time! Our humans aren't feeding us this morning because they said the visitors who are coming to pay homage to the greatest animal on earth ( that's us of course) will want to feed us and ooh and aah. We can't promise to be good but for the mere mortals who worship and idolise us, we will make a bit of an effort. See you soon and to all our cousins and friends at other out posts in Ireland have a great day and milk it for all its worth! One day a year to get as much adoration and food as you can!!!

Yay, we're on the radio tomorrow! Well to be more precise, our human Robin is on Tipp FM (Friday) at 9.45 Ireland time. But the big news is that he's talking about the important things in life - us!!!!!! Tell everyone.

We're so excited!!! Come and see us on the 24th for Ireland's 1st National Alpaca Day.
