Look at this poor dog💔this is so common now. This is why dogs need to be on a regular grooming schedule as their coats get out of hand very quickly especially with out weather. Please don’t let the dogs get matted as it hurts them and there’s no excuse not to have regular coat maintenance.

Perspective is everything!

I had to share an experience I had last month. I had dental surgery on a Wednesday a few weeks ago. Obviously I was closed as I had to to be in Cork university hospital first thing in the morning. While i was in theatre a lady was calling me continuously as she wanted me to clip her dog’s nails straight away that morning.
I was in surgery so had the phone on silent in my bag and hadn’t access to it. She had called a number of time as she was assuming I was just ignoring her calls.
She called again when I was in the recovery room. I had packing in my mouth and and answered the phone to stop the vibrating of the phone and asked her to stop calling as I was in hospital and couldn’t talk as I was in pain and in the recovery room. Now this person and her family have taken offence that I was ignoring her calls.
So please have some perspective and patience in life and realise that everyone has something going on and it’s not all about just you! If I miss a call I will return the call xx🐾

Over the last few weeks there is an increase in dogs presenting with fleas. I can’t groom dogs with fleas as they are so highly contagious.
Please treat your dogs for fleas, it doesnt cost much to protect your dog from fleas, with spot on treatments, prescribed by your vets, (not the cheap pet shop ones)

Signs of fleas on your dog-

📌Excessive scratching
📌Creepy crawlies moving through the coat.
📌Black specks of gritty dirt in coat which is flea dirt
📌hair loss
📌rash

UPDATE: The dog has been reunited with its owner

This little puppy was found wandering near a busy main road in Killarney tonight and an effort is being made to locate the owner.
The distinctive black and white coloured dog, wearing a red collar, was found wandering close to the Park Road pharmacy at the traffic junction at the Countess Road-Park Road-Deerpark junction.
Its body is predominantly white but there are big black patches on the head and tail.
Anybody that might know the owner of the dog is asked to contact 087-4161304.

OMG!!! Look at this poor dog! This is horrific! It doesn’t surprise me as a lot of people think grooming is only making them pretty instead of for the health and welfare of the dog. Dogs should be groomed on a regular schedule so that it doesn’t get out of control like this 💔

So far we have raised €20.6k thanks to generosity of the public.

If 840 people donated just €10 to our fundraiser we will have reached our goal. Our existing X-Ray machine is no longer fit for purpose so there is a sense of urgency to get our vet team this vital new piece of equipment.

RIP Paul. Rest easy now, you did so much for dogs 💔💔🐾

💔 We're very sad to hear of the sudden death of animal lover, Paul O'Grady, who died "unexpectedly but peacefully" at his home last evening. Best known in recent years for his TV show, "For the Love of Dogs", his career spanned almost 50 years.
Human rights campaigner, Peter Tatchell, paid him this tribute: " Paul wasn't just a brilliant comedian and broadcasting personality, but a much-admired campaigner for LGBT + equality and animal rights.
Rest in peace, Paul.

This is the way some breeds like Cockapoo’s coats go if they are left get long without brushing and maintenance. The poor dog suffers with severe matting. they are a high maintenance coat and need to be brushed regularly and not left get long and wet to get stuck to the skin regardless if it’s cold outside.
