Riding Stables was established by Mr. Donie O'Sullivan back in the late 1960's, and is still run today by Donie O'Sullivan and his family, wife Noreen, son William and daughters Lorraine & Aoife . The Stables are approved by the Irish Tourist Board and the Association of Irish Riding Establishments (AIRE). The Killarney Riding Stables are located just 1.5 miles (2km) from the heart of Killarney town and is adjacent to the 'Killarney National Park '(Click here for map). Donie was involved in the selection and training of horses for the famous Tim Severin Crusader project and the locally filmed Oscar winning movie Ryans Daughter, in which, he had a small part. Killarney Riding Stables have also been featured on CNN Travel Guide, Vox Television in Germany, and Irish Travel Shows Bon Voyage & No Frontiers. In January 2008, The Stables were shown on the new series of the popular US TV show Equitrekking. In 2011 Killarney Riding Stables featured in "The Master's Apprentice" show on the Irish National TV Channel, RTE1.
