Many of today’s riding and training practices undermine the long-term wellbeing of our horses, and prevent us from having sound, successful relationships with them. The purpose of this Clinic is to educate riders on how to overcome this, via training techniques that work with, not against, the true mechanics of the equine locomotive system.
The clinic will commence with a presentation by Anita on Static & Dynamic Equine Posture. Horses and riders shall then be split into two groups, one working with Sarah and the other with Anita. The groups will then swap over for the second half of the day.
Spectators will also be split into two groups, each half following the rider groups. Spectators should bring their own seats.
Coffee and tea shall be provided. Please bring your own lunch.

Remember our rescheduled AIRC West dressage qualifier is running on July 13th in Eglinton. Coveted qualification for the Association of Irish Riding Clubs dressage championship is up for grabs, for both teams and individuals. If you were already entered in the qualifier on its original date your entry still stands. If you wish to enter get on the ball...entries close at 10pm on Monday 8th July.
Don't forget we are also running the non-qualifier, fun classes of Prix Caprilli and Dressage to Music (with a very good sound system, courtesy of Eglinton Equestrian Club), so don't feel you have to be trying to qualify....the day is for everyone.

Sunday 7th July sees the running of the AIRC West training day at Castle Irvine Necarne . This training day, which is part-funded by the Association of Irish Riding Clubs training bursary, is open to all current AIRC members but I'm afraid it has been booked out for months, with a wait list that was long! Top marks to Stracomer Riding Club for undertaking to run this day, and good luck to all participants. The final time slots for the day are listed below. Anyone wishing to stable on site should contact Castle Irvine directly.

Today we also welcomed and met with Mark Gallagher from Highland Radio to explore and discuss the benefits of the Therapeutic Horse Riding and Equine Assisted Activities we offer here at Devine Equine.
We also discussed the invaluable support provided by Donegal Sports Partnership and Donegal Domestic Violence Services - DDVS to enable many of these activities to take place here at Devine Equine.
The programme will be on Highland Radio in early June, again many thanks to all who enable this to happen and all the wonderful participants who engage so enthusiastically with our services.

Our upcoming clinic on Sunday the 5th of May with Lisa Allen of EquimechEquimech is booking up quickly. The clinic consists of an off the horse rider biomechanics assessment with Lisa followed directly by a lesson on your horse with myself. Cost is €110 and includes lunch/refreshments and the use of our stables if required. Please contact me directly if you need any additional information and I hope to post times early in the week.

We are really delighted to welcome Dr Helen Spence to Devine Equine on Saturday the 27th of April.
Helen is a clinical animal behaviourist specialising in equines based primarily in Northern Ireland. She is an ABTC registered Clinical Animal Behaviourist specialising in equines.
Helen is available for both one to one sessions with your horse which can be followed by a lesson with myself or potentially a small group talk followed by individual sessions etc.
This will depend on demand and places are limited, please PM me as soon as possible to book your place and highlight the format you would prefer on the day also.

Just home from this wonderful seminar in Festina Lente in Bray today.
I can’t believe it’s 12 years since I completed my accredited Therapeutic Horse Riding Coach training with Festina Lente!
It was great to meet some of our original training group who continue to work in this area with the same commitment and passion as we all shared 12 years ago.
Not alone was today an educational opportunity but it was also an excellent networking opportunity.
It was great to attend todays seminar with all of its presentations and practical demonstrations and congratulations to Katie Capall for flying the flag for Donegal in such wonderful style too.
