If you know of a feral cat in your area do the right thing to help prevent loads more kittens ending up fighting for their lives.

FERAL CATS in Ireland are a blessing and a curse.
Ferals provide great rodent control, and without them, Ireland would look very different today, overrun with rats and mice. BUT they multiply very fast (up to 3 litters per year),
A feral cat is a cat that has been born to other ferals or from stray cats; these ferals are unaccustomed to human interaction. Feral cats are usually considered to be distinct from stray cats, which are socialised cats who no longer live in homes but could potentially be reintroduced successfully.
Trap-neuter-return (TNR) is a program through which feral cats are humanely trapped, neutered, and medically treated and returned to the outdoor locations where they were found. If those locations are deemed unsafe or otherwise inappropriate, feral cats are relocated to farms.
Feral cats have a short life span compared to household cats due to the rougher condition and lack of care, but TNR improves their health and lives. TNR is the recognized, humane way of managing the number of ferals in a colony over time. Besides TNR, it's important to maintain the health of the cats by regular feeding.
Each feral cats cost us €50-90 to TNR ( including parasite treatment), and we have several more colonies lined up for this spring .Each cat neutered/spayed will reduce the number of unwanted, often sickly kittens born this and every year.

This lovely girl was very compacted and mucky as hell in her undercarriage area. Groomed all by myself in 4hours and could have probably brushed her for another hour 🤣

Have been sitting this evening sorting through photos taken of the dogs groomed to post. Sometimes I forget a before photo or an after photo or both & other times I've 3 or 4 trying to get a decent one. The thing I've noticed this past while is whether it's a toy poodle, Bichon, cockapoo, cavachon, cavapoo or any mixed breed of curly n straight - they're all the same or similar colours some are older but most are pups under the year old 🤔 🐾🐶
My heart then saddens with the amount of unwanted dogs ALL of the rescue centres are having to cope with, they're overrun with trying to care for them :(
I'm then thinking about the banning of yet another breed of dog in the UK & now Scotland and as a dog groomer, owner of dogs + cats & having been around all animals from a young age know this isn't going to stop the attacks from dogs to people or towards other dogs anytime soon.
Who is worrying about this situation here at the moment ???
