Michael judged the 2023 NI Charollais Flock competition last weekend. An honour in itself, there were many impressive flocks of sheep on display across Northern Ireland. Pictures and results below.

Ballyhibben have for sale 2 shearling ewes by Sportsman Dare Devil who sired rams to €160K. The dam of these ewes is a Kingspark ewe, she has bred 6 stock rams. Full sister of these 2 ewes was 5th in the All Ireland in Gurteen for John McHugh.

As we fully disperse our Ballyhibben Texel flock next Saturday at Blessington Texel All Stars In Lamb Ewe Sale, included in the sale is of course one of our favourites - The Kingspark ewe.

Purchased in Lanark in 2019, she has been a consistent producer of exceptional quality lambs. She has produced 7 rams sold to pedigree breeders to a top of €1,950 and she also has some very smart daughters in the sale sired by Sportsman’s Dare Devil (ewe lambs).

Served on 22/09 by Forkins Eminem, she is scanned carrying 2 and would be a great addition to any flock, a ewe that will be truly missed 🤍

Best of luck to Colm O’Neill in Co. Roscommon who secured Lot 78 at €2,000 and also to David and Johnathan Norman from the Kirkhouse flock in Cumbria who snapped up Lot 97, top price ewe lamb at €1,800, pictured below 💫

Lot 28 was the second top price at our sale on Saturday at €2,100. A 2020 ewe who we admired greatly found her new home with Eric Landen of the Highfield flock, Co. Cork.

The dust has finally settled at Ballyhibben. We are delighted with the support for our sale on Saturday. We achieved 95% clearance along with a very strong average.

The sale topped at €3,800 for Lot 18. This 2019 ewe found a new home with the Malcomson family of the Ringclare flock, Northern Ireland who also went on to purchase Lot 23 at €1,900.
Some further results to follow tomorrow evening.
