We are an eight vet practice serving the mid-west region on a 24 hour basis, 365 days of the year. We pride ourselves on the professionalism and care we offer to our clients from our purpose built premises on the Ballysimon Road. We also have an established base of Farm cl

ients from the counties of Limerick, Clare and Tiperrary. The Small Animal Clinic is closed for lunch Monday to Friday from 2pm to 3pm.

Certain breeds can grow long hair in the ear canals which can cause trouble. In some cases the hair will have to be removed as in Charlie’s case. She will now be able to hear the treat bags being opened this Christmas. 🎄🍬

Tripod earned his clever little name from a nasty degloving injury to his front right leg that required amputation 🥲 just a week after his operation he was absolutely glowing!! ✨ He came in this week for a nail clip and some cuddles 🥰

Kiki appreciation post 🤗🩷 Kiki is turning 15 this year- which is hard to believe as she looks so good!! 🥰

She came to visit us 5 months ago with a sore leg. She had an accident previously and as a result she ended up with osteomyelitis and extensive necrosis of the bone and surrounding soft tissue extending up her leg making her feel quite sick 🥲

Thankfully, Kiki’s blood parameters were fantastic!!! ✨ So her owners opted to amputate the leg to try get a few more precious years with their beloved Kiki 💞

Kiki came through surgery with flying colours and made lots of friends with staff and other patients along the way!!!🩺🐾

Kiki had so much to overcome but she rallied every step of the way!!! The last photo is of Kiki at her final review appointment where she’s a very happy and healthy, fully adapted 3-legged pooch! 🫶

Peanut and Pudding were neutered and microchipped today.

Female cats can give birth to many kittens from as little as 4 months old so it is a good idea to neuter them and avoid any unwanted pregnancies. 🩺🐾

Our furry friend Honey was in for a sedation and ear clean! 🐾

Hairy ears can be problematic for some breeds of dogs such as poodles, schnauzers, shih tzus and bichon frises to name a few. 🐶
Excess hair can block air circulation causing a build up of moisture and bacteria leaving our furry friends vulnerable to ear infections.

Sometimes but not always plucking the hair is the only solution but this can cause irritation to the ear canal so it’s best to get it done by a professional.

If in doubt, speak to your vet. 🩺🐾
