Recruitment Alert!!!! One of the team has answered the call to head to the motherland (Australia). So we are on the hunt for a new team member to join us at Allpaws. The role is a front of house position based in our Castletroy Clinic. Castletroy is our new clinic where our surgeries and advanced imaging (CT) are based. The role will involve all front of house responsibilities, helping in co-ordinating appointments and referrals, diary management, and with training stock control. This is a full time position, with support from the entire team. Veterinary experience would be ideal, but all training will be provided. REMINDER FOR THE WEEKEND - it is due to go up to 28 degrees this weekend so please take extra care of your furry friends 🔆

🚨SEVERE RISK OF HEATSTROKE 🚨

While we're enjoying the sunshine, it can be far too hot for our furry friends. Please take extra care during this warm spell.

🌡️ Our top tips to keep your pet safe:
🐾 Walk dogs early in the morning or late in the evening when temperatures are lower.
🌳 Stick to shaded or grassy areas where possible.
💧 Always provide fresh, cool water and access to shade.
🚫 Avoid unnecessary exercise – missing one walk is much safer than risking heatstroke.
🚗 Never leave your pet in a car – not even for a minute. Cars can reach life-threatening temperatures incredibly quickly.
👀 Watch for signs of heatstroke, including excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting, weakness or collapse.

⚠️ Even early mornings and late evenings can still be too warm during a heatwave. If you can skip today's walk, your dog will thank you for it!

🚨 Road Closure Notice – Father Russell Road (All Paws Raheen) THIS WEEK🚧
Please be advised that Father Russell Road (where our Raheen clinic is based) will be fully closed to facilitate the installation of a new wastewater connection.
📅 Closure Period: 8am, Monday, July 6th for 24-hour closure. This will finish on Friday July 10th at 6pm
Diversions are via Ballykeeffe Road and St. Nessan's Road.
The only access to our clinic in Racefield Centre is through Quinn's Cross roundabout only! (The Spar & Oakfield end of the road)
Please allow time for traffic and delays getting to the clinic for your appointment.

🐾✨ Kimi’s IVDD Surgery Success Story ✨🐾

This week, our amazing vet Dr. Aoife performed IVDD surgery on sweet Kimi — and we’re so happy to share that she is recovering beautifully already 💖

IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) is a condition where the discs in the spine can bulge or rupture, putting pressure on the spinal cord. It can cause pain, weakness, and even difficulty walking. Thankfully, with quick treatment, expert surgery, and lots of love and care, many pets can make incredible recoveries — just like Kimi 🐶

Seeing her back on her feet, wagging her tail, and returning to her happy playful self is exactly why we do what we do. Recovery is still ongoing, but Kimi has already shown so much strength and bravery 🌟

A huge well done to Dr. Aoife and our amazing team for taking such great care of her every step of the way 🩷
