We are all set for today's fun dog show as part of Moyvane's Village festival lineup as Moyvane Development Association celebrates 30yrs of the festival. Delighted to again be sponsoring this event.
Our fun dog show is on Sunday at 1pm in Moyvane church car park.
There is a best costume category as always so bring along any outfit your furry family member may have.

Hedgehogs at this time of year can appear in gardens looking like this. There is very little movement and if left, they may die. The cold has got to them and they start to shut down, if you see hedgehogs out in the day or small ones out at night please contact your local rescue

Found this cute little kitty while out walking the fields this morning. We gave him a bath as he was very mucky. He has settled in great but must be missing his family, hes a big boy thats obviously been very well looked after. Hes got a great appetite...would eat a horse, literally!

Who knew "Delilah" was written about a cat? 🐱🐈🐈‍⬛

How nice to see Freddie who could buy pure bred cats for huge amounts adopting from the local shelter and possibly encouraging his fans to follow suit.

FREDDIE and his Cool Cats….

All Freddie’s cats were adopted from shelters except for his one pure breed cat Tiffany, which was a gift from Mary. Mary had also bought Tom and Jerry while she and Freddie were together, and by the time Freddie passed they were very old.

Freddie’s absolute favorite was his sweet Delilah, a beautiful calico cat adopted from a shelter. As most of you know Freddie
so loved Delilah he wrote a a song just for her on the Innuendo album (1991)…a very sweet tribute to his girl.

Oscar (the big orange cat) and Tiffany were also adopted prior to 1985.

Romeo was adopted towards the end of Freddie’s life and bullied the other cats. Eventually he had to be adopted out to a new home.

Oscar was said to be one of the most traumatized by Romeo, and kept running away for months. Finally he ran away for good shortly after Freddie’s funeral.

But Oscar’s story doesn’t end there! Oscar was found a few days later living with a family in the same neighborhood. They had been caring for him and felt it was their right to keep him. Mary however went to court to retain ownership.

The 10 Freddie owned over time were Dorothy, Tiffany, Tom, Jerry, Delilah, Goliath, Lily, Miko, Oscar and Romeo. Jim Hutton stated, “Freddie treated the cats like his own children.” ❤️😻🖤😻👑

Our care assistants are worth their weight in gold. Without them we would be lost. When you see a care assistant on the floor looking after and changing one one patient, please know they have another 30 or so to tend to many times over in one 13 hour shift with little or no thanks. And many times they do this alone! They absolutely should not have to do this alone!!!
Healthcare assistants of Ireland, please know that nurses very very much appreciate you. We know we'd be nothing without you. We hope that the very few nurses who may not be used to patient care and who might not think it's their job to tend to patient care, will wake up soon and realise that it's very much part of our job.
We are very well aware that sadly some of us let you down.
We apologise for this.

Bank holiday Monday wraps up the Moyvane Village Festival organised by Moyvane Development Association.

***SAM MAGUIRE, LIAM McCARTHY & COUNTY MINOR CUP @ MOYVANE VILLAGE FESTIVAL 2022***

We are so excited to share with you that we will have three special visitors to Moyvane tomorrow, October 31. Sam Maguire, Liam McCarthy and the County Minor Cup (along with some of our local players) will all be in Moyvane Sports Hall!

Note that we are kicking off at the slightly later time of 2pm to facilitate the North Kerry Championship game where our own minor team take on Listowel in the Division 1 final. Best of luck to the Moyvane management and team!

At 4.30pm we will close out the festival weekend with our Monster Raffle. Lines will be on sale from MDA committee members tomorrow so still time to buy yours if you haven't already!

We look forward to welcoming you all tomorrow on the last day of this wonderful weekend. See you all at Moyvane Sports Hall!

It's that day again!
Dog show at 1pm today as part of the Moyvane Village Festival organised as usual by the hard working team behind Moyvane Development Association.
Very happy to once again be sponsoring this event.

The ever popular vintage rally is taking place today. The dog show will be followed by a kids tractor race at 2pm and this year there is a trail of horror for the kids, 2 trails, one for the smallies and one for the older kids.

We are delighted to welcome Cliona Hagan as our headline act for this year's Moyvane Village Festival. Cliona is one of Ireland's best known country singers and really knows how to put on a show! Cliona will take to the stage on the Saturday night of our festival weekend in the Community Sports Hall, and we are excited to welcome a big crowd for what promises to be a really special community night. Another reason to love the 3 stooges. Saturday mornings with a bowl of cornflakes and these guys was just perfect.

♦️Jerome Horwitz, famous for playing CURLY in "THE THREE STOOGES", was known to all as a protector of dogs. Curly's contract with Columbia Pictures included a clause that allowed his dogs to accompany him on the studio lot. Columbia limited it to no more than two dogs at a time, this due to the puppies' unplanned on-camera appearances from time to time. You can still see those surprise dog on set invasions in the first few short films. Typically surrounded by various dogs, Curly was known to come home with a stray dog ​​and foster it until he could find it a permanent home. When the Stooges were out on the road, Curly took it upon himself to find a new home for at least one stray dog ​​in every town they visited. Curly is estimated to have saved and rescued more than 5,000 dogs in his lifetime. This makes him a man ahead of his time, with a very admirable concern for man's best friend.❤️

Nasty little critters for dogs. Don't forget to get them out properly if you find one. Don't just pull them as you can leave the head inside the skin and cause a nasty infection.

From a local Vet....
This tick has been hanging around for us to show people for a while. After months in a sealed container with no additional feeding she laid eggs. This gives you an idea of how long a tick can be dormant and how many eggs one female can lay. Remember ticks bloom again in the fall so keep up with prevention.
