Meeting one’s heroine!!!

Attending the London Vet Show - and meeting Temple Grandin!

This lady is a pioneering vet in the area of fear free veterinary practice and animal welfare worldwide.

I have admired her from afar for many years and finally got to attend her lectures today and a precious book signing!
Some clients come to us especially because we just do things differently- and we love helping sensitive and nervous pets have a happy vet visit. Simple things like-
Loads of yummy treats
Having an outdoors consult for really nervous dogs
Asking a dog to enter through the back door instead of the usual front entrance
Lots of distractions- you may have seen our nurses and animal care assistants doing mad dances and other equally amusing routines to alleviate a stressed pet!

Animals are SENSORY - sight, smell , touch are all so important in the vet clinic!

Remember we like to put the TREAT into TREATMENT!!!!

Halloween is a spooky time of year, but let's make sure it's safe and fun for our furry friends! Whether your pet is rocking a cute costume or just enjoying the festivities from the sidelines, here are some tips to keep them safe:
No Tricks, No Treats! Keep candy out of reach - especially chocolate and sugar-free treats with xylitol.
Costume Comfort: If your pet enjoys dressing up, make sure their costume isn't too tight or restrictive, and always supervise them.
Fireworks Alert! Loud fireworks can cause stress and anxiety. Create a quiet, cosy space where your pet can feel safe during any unexpected booms. For our super stressy spooky pets, call us to discuss some medication options.
Pet Safety First: Keep your pets indoors and away from the doorbell chaos to avoid any stress or escapes.
