This video is a little different than what you'd normally see here, not a whole pile happens in it, yet it is quite powerful. It's not about a happy waggy tailed dog, it's about a dog at peace.
The little dog in the blanket is Daisy, the one in the crate that you can barely see, is my own boy Dasty.
Daisy is quite old and suffers from canine dementia, she can get anxious and very vocal with it. I actually had to stop her groom early, because of how stressed she was getting. I was hoping that she'd calm down, so i could groom her brother while she waited, but she was still very upset, so was about to call her mom to come to her rescue.
But before I had a chance, Daisy wandered into the back where Dasty was in his crate, she looked at him and sniffed him and as if you flipped a switch she calmed down. She sat there quietly for a minute, then she laid down beside him and went to sleep.
I found it fascinating, I have no idea what communication had passed between them, but I was able to groom Daisy's brother and we all waited in peace for their mum to collect them
Guess sometimes someone's quiet presence is all the comfort we need, both dogs and humans ❤️
