Toby was in for a dental last week and needed a few extra cuddles while he recovered. Fortunately (unfortunately?!) Robin was more then willing to lend a helping hand. Her nursing skills still need some working on. Lesson 1: No sitting on the patients!

Its shaping up to be a wild one, probably best to avoid walks as the storm advances, keep smaller pets indoors and make sure outdoor ones have warm and dry shelter safe from falling trees or flying debris. Many anxious pets will also benefit from a cosy secure den to hide away from window rattling wind and rain. Make sure id tags are up to date.

The lovely Digger was in for a check up last week. He was adopted from Munster lost and found pet helpline last year and has become a firm favourite here since then.

Make sure your senior pet has access to a warm cosy bed to rest any aching joints. Be watchful that they can get to them, some pets may need a ramp.

Senior of the day! However nobody has told Barney he falls into the golden oldie category. His monthly arthritis injections keep him feeling like a puppy and who are we to contradict him!!

Not only must we keep the bodies of our senior pets active, mental stimulation is also vital to keeping them engaged and alert.

Keep exercise to a moderate level but keep it consistent. This will help maintain joint flexibility and muscle mass in our senior pets. Physiotherapy is also wonderful at maintaining mobility in our elderly friends.
