Cork athlete Billy Twomey (Show Jumper) Official has just finished fourth in four-star competition in Gijon, the Spanish town made famous in Ireland when Kevin Moran signed from Manchester United to play with the La Liga soccer club.
Twomey and eight-year-old talent, Ace Of Hearts were clear on each part of the two-phase 1.50m class, posting a time of 29.58 seconds in the speed section for a ribbon, just off the podium.
The competition was won by French pilot, Emeric George, on board Dune de Ru with a time of 28.72.

Busteed Equine are looking for a new member of staff to join our friendly team, ideally to work 5 mornings a week (flexible hours may also be available).We are located in a rural area just outside Carrigaline/Monkstown. This is a physically demanding job so you must be8 physically fit.The role will include mucking out, turning horses out and general yard duties, riding is also a possibility depending on your ability.
We operate a competition livery yard with a number of racehorses and young stock so you must be confident handling this type of animal, being able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team is essential.

Including a league win yesterday at Maryville on Tawnydun Hugo and finishing up today at The South Union Pony Club show at Maryville bringing home a boot full of prizes! We had our first away day yesterday with three Two year olds at the facilities of Terence o Brien (who had a fab winner at Clonmel on Thursday,) Jordan ,Patrick Mc Carthy ,and myself enjoyed the outing .👍
