Please note I am not a vet, I am an ACA (animal care assistant, with years of experience handling sick or injured animals). Pawsitive Pet Healing based in Moynalty, Kells, Co Meath is set up to provide care and healing time in a calm, warm area for pets recovering from an accident, injury or surgery. Pets are crate rested in accordance with their vets instructions, given medic**ations prescribed by their vet and gently exercised as per their vets wishes.

Pawsitive Pet Healing is run by a very experienced animal care assistant, who has 15 years working in vets and an emergency practice. I understand the effects of long term crating on a pet, and how to encourage them to eat and take the medic**ations they need to recover effectively. I can gently exercise your pet and report back to the vet of any concerns I may have, so that you can get a rest, or go back to work, knowing your pet is in safe hands.

A little of what I do here at Pawsitive Pet Healing. I care for your pets after surgery. It could be you can't take time off work to be at home all day for 12 weeks while your pet is on crate rest. It could simply be you don't feel you can watch your pet being confined for a lengthy period of time. It could be you have a holiday booked and you can't leave your pet in a regular boarding facility or you struggle with giving medication. All of these reasons are ok to seek outside help with. Everyone meet the amazing Milly!!

Milly is a 20-year-old Jack Russell who enjoyed pottering around her garden and sitting in the sunshine. But one day, she was injured and couldn't walk properly. Her family were worried and took her to the vet, who suggested they contact Pawsitive Pet Healing for extra support. Milly's owners contacted me, and I was delighted to assist them with Milly’s recovery.

And that's how Milly ended up at Pawsitive Pet Healing, spending weekdays with myself and returning home on weekends to her loving family.

When Milly arrived, she was struggling to walk on her own. But with the help of an Orthopaedic dog harness, combined with medication, gentle walks and by following her vets exercise plan, she slowly regained her strength.

I also used warm baths with Epsom salts to soothe her sore muscles and a heat lamp to dry her off, as she didn't like the loud noise of the drier. With medication, rest, and carefully monitored walks, Milly's progress was slow but steady. Her owners were amazed at how much she had improved in just a few weeks. Milly was determined to get back on her feet, and with lots of patience and encouragement, she did just that.

Finally, the day came when Milly was ready to go home for good. I am so sad to see her go, but I am also very proud of her progress.

Milly was one of the lucky dogs who got to return to her family.
She had not only regained her ability to walk but also made some amazing new friends. Joker the Newfoundland, Bonnie the German Shepherd and Buzz the Yorkie.

Milly's journey had been a challenging one, but with the help of Pawsitive Pet Healing, she has overcome most of her injuries..

And now, she is back at home hoping the sun comes out so she can relax in the warmth of it before the winter arrives.

Did you know that a lot of pets that have a major surgery done, quite often need corrective surgery, due to them not being crate rested correctly at home?

It's very tough watching your pet being crate rested for weeks but if you need some help or a break away for a few days I am very happy to look after your pet for you

At Pawsitive Pet Healing I take care of dogs and cats that have just had surgery. It might be Ortho surgery, fracture repairs or some other kind of major or minor surgery. I also mind pets that are on daily medications for thyroid issues, cushings, diabetes, eye ulcers while you are away on holiday. Pets are crated as required by your vets, all medications are given at the time they need to be given and gentle lead walks for pets recovering from surgery as per your pets instructions.
