What is fibre?
Fibre is the tough, indigestible part of plants, fruits, vegetables and cereals.
Because fibre is indigestible it means that our pets are unable to digest it on their own. Pets have a huge ecosystem of bacteria and other microorganisms that live in the gut (known as microbiome) which together help our pets break down the fibre into nutrients that can then be absorbed and utilised by the body.
This is why it is so important that your pets gastrointestinal tract is happy and healthy ๐พ๐พ๐พ

Many of our clients may have heard us talking about the benefits of fibre in your pets diet.๐พ

There are many benefits to fibre in your pets diet including:
1. Gut health.
2. Keeping your pet 'regular' .
3. Creating the perfect poop.
4. Feeding the microbiome.

The parasite some of you guessed correctly are ear mites.
Ear mites (otodectes cynotis) are tiny parasites that are often only visible under the microscope and they live in the ears of cats, dogs , ferrets and foxes (often younger not older animals) as they feed off skin, oil and ear wax.
They are picked up when they come into contact with another animal with mites.

A healthy weight starts with healthy habits!
Does your cat or dog give you "THE LOOK"๐.
And is your response "They are hungry" and to then feed them?
Are you sure they were hungry?
Often they are not and we are overfeeding them. This is often the main reason our pets are overweight.
If you would like some help with ensuring your pet is not being overfeed or if you need to start a weight loss journey with your pet give us a call on 045247625. ๐พ๐ฑ๐ถ๐พ
