Update video's like these from clients make my work worthwhile. Kevin was brought to me for a board and train 10 months ago, his amazing family having saved him from behavioural euthanasia for severe aggression, biting, and resource guarding...he was literally a few hours from not being here anymore when Alex, Kevin's guardian angel, swept in and saved him.

Look at him go now! Kevin's amazing family did everything I asked, and more. He then attended my off-leash recall class with his new dad Aidan and big brother Niall, and as you can see by these video's - he's enjoying complete off-leash freedom no matter where he is!!

Kevin will have graduated my board and train 1 year ago in Febuary. That's going to be the most amazing check-in!!

Another successful recall class finished, and all of the pups are happy and reliable off-leash. It was a class packed to the rafters with springers this time, all working line too...and a few are even super hero dogs who search for human remains. Their owners aren't half bad too (they're amazing, no dog does this well in 8 weeks without an amazing owner!)

It's rare I see small puppies lately. Normally I train large breeds with reactivity and aggression, often restricted breed dogs that have bitten multiple times, and also adult dogs that are pulling like trucks and have destroyed an entire kitchen. Or an anxious dog. Not always, but mostly. Sometimes it's pulling and biting rolled into one. And I'm here for it, I love assisting with dogs that really need help, and I love the transformation. So seeing this wee man today was strange. And amazing. Can't wait to see him in our social class ❤️

We've been quiet on social media for a few weeks, but when I say we've been busy behind the scenes I really mean it!
We're seeing up to 8 doggies each day, with issues ranging from severe aggression to a lack of basic manners. We're so grateful for each and every client and their dog trusting us with their issues.
If you've been following us for a while, you'll recognise Kevin in these pics...the wee Kevin was hours away from euthanasia a few months ago, and his current family swooped in and saved his life - they brought him to me a few days later for help, and he's the best boy since! He's back for recall training.

This man taught me almost everything I know about working dogs, and more about myself than I can articulate. Hakan is my friend and mentor, and I can only wish others are as lucky as me to find someone like him on their journey. Loyal is the best way to describe Hakan and his beautiful wife and son - that is something rare these days. Now Hakan has left Ireland to live in Texas (so jealous!), there will be a space where he was that can't be filled. He is a genuinely selfless man that always wanted the best for me and others, and never failed to help me with my business, training and dogs. Hakan is the reason I own my own successful business, and my girls and I are a K9 detection team. Rearing working dogs takes a village, and he was the head of that village for me and my girls. If I can be half as amazing at that job as Hakan, we'll be OK.
We miss you already.

I'm delighted to announce this spring/summer is going to be filled with The Royal Canine Academy's group classes! A great way to get out on a Saturday with your dog, and learn something new. These classes will on-going throughout the year and new dates will be popping up regularly.
Looking for a flawless recall? Want to properly socialise your dog? Fancy learning some obedience or rearing a social, confident puppy? What about desensitising your dog to loud noises and fireworks? More details on all these classes can be found on my website.
My agility class is almost ready too, so keep an eye out for that!

Due to a spike in dogs presenting to me having come directly from multiple behaviourists who recommended euthanasia; I strongly feel this needs saying out loud.
Research your Irish canine professionals, and do not be afraid to ask them to talk about their methods, and look for corroborating evidence that their methods work. If they appeal to an ideology - my personal advice is to run for the hills. You may well be wasting your money, your dogs time, and might even be signing their death sentence.

Kevin was literally hours from being euthanised for serious behavioural issues, having been presented to his then-family's local Vet. His new family stepped in immediately and saved his life, and brought him to me for an intensive board and train. 5 months on and he's still thriving - he's also in our E-collar recall course! I cannot thank his family enough for following through on the training plan I set out, and never ever deviating. When a dog presents with serious issues like this, its imperative a family follow through. Kevin is one of the sweetest, and luckiest dogs I've ever met. And he gets to show that now, because he's finally in the right home. Wee Harvey and his awesome mum came to me looking for help with his anxiety, barking and leash walking.
