SPECIAL APPEAL : Unbelievably Piper is now at the Shelter for 9 months! We cannot understand why he is constantly overlooked for a home as he really is a lovely young guy. Is it his breed? No, because we rehome lots of lurchers. Is it his temperament? No, because he is no different to other lurchers. Is it his colour? No, because we've rehomed lots of other black dogs since his arrival. Piper has seen more than a hundred dogs leave the Shelter ahead of him and must be wondering will it ever be his turn. He is getting more that his fair share of attention at the Shelter though by bagging the best bedroom in the house, getting plenty of trips out to the real world (where he behaves himself so well) and getting more than his share of cuddles from our Volunteers. Piper really deserves a chance of a home of his own and we will not give up the search. Please share this post and listen to his little promo video where he says it best himself.
The grass at the Shelter has been cut in preparation for our Bazaar this coming Sunday 29th and Piper is making good use of it to scratch that awkward spot on his back that he can’t reach. Piper still needs a forever home http://kwwspca.ie/adopt-a-dog/Piper
Our Wag & Bone Dog Show at Punchestown on Sunday last was a huge success. Thank you to all who supported. Here's the line-up for "Best in Show" class. We will share photos of all the winners when the photos are to hand.
Our Fab Four, puppies Don, Jimi, Rory & Tom, were learning how to walk on the lead today- a bit more practice needed we think 😜 http://kwwspca.ie/adopt-a-dog
URGENT - FOSTER HOME NEEDED FOR PUPPY FARM DOG PAUDI
URGENT - PUPPY FARM DOG PAUDI NEEDS A LONG-TERM FOSTER HOME.
This gorgeous boy is Paudi. Paudi is a golden retriever of almost 10 years old and very sadly he’s spent almost his whole life in a puppy farm as a stud dog. Despite this Paudi has the sweetest, most loving nature. Paudi has an old injury to a back paw that is currently being treated by long term medication. As a result the shelter is not the place for him. He needs to be in a home that has a nice garden for him to potter in and where his paw can more easily be kept clean and dry. Because of the injury, Paudi is not able to go for long walks - he can only be walked on grass for short walks and needs to be kept off gravel or any rough surfaces. He is quite strong on the lead and is just over 30kg. He is neutered and house trained and very, very friendly. He needs someone at home for part of the day at least because he loves company. He could live in a home with children from 10 up. He could live with a calm, female dog. We don’t know how he is with cats. This boy desperately needs a long term foster home. He doesn’t require frequent vet visits - he just needs to get his medication daily. Surely there is someone out there who could help this lovely boy after he’s had a lifetime of hardship? He’s great in the car - he went to the vets the other day and we stopped in the pet shop for some treats and he was so good and met lots of people who stopped and petted him. Please if you could offer to foster Paudi, call 087 6887136 or 087 9133923. We provide everything he needs like food, bedding, and we cover all veterinary care. All you need to do is give this lovely boy a place to live and give him lots of love. He’s such a sunny boy and really deserves to be in a home at his age. Please share to help us find Paudi a foster home. Thanks.
