Some safety tips for your pet's during this weather warning ⚠️

- Create a safe haven indoors for your pet's
- Use familiar bedding , toys, and evening calming sprays
-If possible , set up safe space away from windows or areas where the wind might sound loudest.

Take your pets for a toliet break on a lead during times of calm in the storm. Ideally, before the storm hits and keep the outings brief.

During the storm , keep all animals indoors, even farm animals.

Flying debris , flooding, and extreme weather conditions can pose serious dangers.

Pet's are highly attunded to owners' emotions and may react to your stress or anxiety.

Lovely little Darby was in today for his general health check, microchip, and his first vaccine 🐾💉🩺

Our wonderful Vet Owen and little Darby really hit it off today, and lots of cuddles were had ✨️✨️

microchipping of dogs in Ireland is a legal requirement.

A microchip is a small electronic chip around the size of a grain of rice, which is implanted under the dog's skin and contains a unique number that can be read by a scanner.

The dog owner's contact details relating to each number are logged on a central database, so should the dog ever go missing or be stolen it can be scanned by the authorities and returned to his owner swiftly and safely.

How to keep your pets safe during this cold spell ❄️

*Ensure your pets are identifiable
They are kept on a lead and are microchipped

*Protect your pets paws
Wipe your pets paws throughly to remove any potential residue from potential chemicals or debris.

*kept your pet kept warm in a dry , well ventilation area with plenty of access to fresh water

*Remember to store antifreeze away from pets as it is very toxic. If ingested, please contact the clinic on 029 60039 to be seen immediately

*Remember salt for de-icing can irritate paws 🐾

*Ensure to check your car bonets for cats as they might snuck up into the engine to get warm

*Keep your pets coats and jackets dry, if wet please remove as this can cause your pets to be cold
