Two of our (many) adorable clients who we've treated this week are very excited for the long weekend! 🥳💛

We would like to remind all of our clients of our opening hours this weekend **NOTE CHANGE TO SATURDAYS HOURS**

Saturday 3rd: 9:00am-12:00pm
Sunday 4th: CLOSED
Monday 5th: CLOSED
Tuesday: 9:00am-6:00pm

⚠️We urge everyone to please be mindful of your pets during these high temperatures. Heat stroke can happen very quickly and can be fatal if not caught soon enough. Here are some top tips:

🟢ALWAYS have fresh drinking water and shade available.
🟢Only walk dogs early morning or late evening and avoid having them out during the daytime when the temperature is at its peak.
🟢 NEVER leave an animal in the car for a prolonged period of time during this weather.
🟢Be mindful of your dog getting scraps if BBQ'ing this weekend. Scraps can cause GI issues and meat with bones in it can cause obstructions and prove fatal.

Happy Easter Everyone! 🐣 We will be closed this bank holiday Monday but will reopen on Tuesday 11th at 9am.

Please remember to keep toxic foods such as chocolate, foods with xylitol sweetner or raisins away from all dogs and cats.

Lillies are very popular this time of year but can also be toxic if ingested, so please keep them away from your feline and canine friends! 💐

Tuesday 11th: Open as normal

It was puppy fever this morning!😍 We met these gorgeous Yorkshire terrier puppies for microchipping and Simba the Bernese mountain dog for vaccination. ❤️❤️

Blood Donation 🤩😇

Earlier this week, Douglas very kindly donated some blood to a poorly patient. He was the best boy and it's always a pleasure having such a kind, gentle boy like him in with us. He was very brave!

We are currently making up a list of possible blood donors, so if you think your dog matches these requirements, please call us on 091788270.

Blood Donor Requirements:
✔Weighs 25kg or more
✔Aged 1-7 years old
✔In good general health and up to date with vaccinations
✔Not on any long term medication
✔Hasn't received a blood transfusion

**OWNER FOUND**This lovely little lady walked into Tesco in Oranmore this morning and we are trying to locate her owner. She is very friendly and loves affection so she must be someones pet and is an older lady. She is chipped but the microchip is not updated with the owners contact details. Please help reunite this lady with her owner! Call the clinic on 091788270 if you have any information.

We would like to say a massive thank you to all our clients,staff and friends this Christmas. The gifts, cards and chocolates we all recieved are so appreciated and we are beyond grateful. Staff pets Bruno and Bimba would like to advise our clients that our drug and food suppliers will be closed over the Christmas period. The last day to order prescriptions or food before this will be MONDAY 19TH DECEMBER.

❄ Make sure you have enough of your prescriptions/food for the holidays.
❄ It's a good idea to order more than a month of medication; just in case.
❄ Please call us in advance if you'd like us to order anything for you.

Beautiful female dog found straying in Maree Oranmore. Seems to have been straying for a few days as quite dirty and skittish when found. Some social media posts circulating suggest she was originally seen on Dublin Rd. earlier in the week. Microchipped but not registered.

With Halloween just around the corner; here are some of the aids we stock to help your support pet through the firework season.

1. 🐶🐱Make sure they are microchipped and that it is registered correctly. This is to ensure you can be reunited if they run away as a result of getting spooked by noise.

2. 🏘 Create a safe space for them to go to when things get too much.
A covered crate in a quiet area (no hallways etc) with familiar blankets and toys makes for a good hiding place.
Spray with a calming solution like Pet Remedy before the scary event.

3. 🧘‍♂️🧘‍♀️ Using calming remedies such as Zylkene can help to keep your pet relaxed during stressful periods. These need to be introduced as early before these events as possible.

September is Pain Awareness Month

Most owners have an idea of the signs their dog show if they're in pain, but what about cats?
Have you noticed that your cat appears to be struggling to groom their coat? They may have matted fur around the sides of their body or at the base of their tail. Matted fur can be a sign of arthritis and can indicate that your cat is in pain.

More signs include difficulty getting up or down stairs, trouble jumping up onto or down from surfaces. Cats with arthritis may find it difficult to get to the litter tray, or outside, in time to toilet.

If you have noticed any of these signs in your cat, call us today to book an appointment.
