Dogs that have anxious behavioural issues have to be groomed slowly and carefully. I don't like rushing the process. Each step in grooming is being addressed. Slowly and carefully. And patiently. Giving time for dog trust you. Not too rush process and make dog more fearful for the next time.
I listen to owners and try and work out before we start to get to know their dogs needs. If the dog present fear and aggressive behaviour then I don't tend to take the risk and refer you to local dog trainer. Who is certified.

Mats are preventable
They form on dogs coats by environmental factors and pure neglect.
Pelted coats or heavy matted coats provide breeding ground for external parasites and causes skin irratation.
And no protection the elements. Cold/ hot weather no protection.
As a groomer the only humane option is clip/ shave the dog. If the mats are close to skin and dense their is no sense pulling on the coat causing further pain to the dog. As groomer your dogs well being is always our priority. .

Did you know, that spending time grooming or getting your dog used too grooming sessions at home In-between grooming appointments is beneficial to there health and well being and builds trust with their pack members their family, which is us.
By doing this you can detect external parasites (fleas, mites and lice and ticks from spreading).
And prevents mats from forming and you learn more about your dogs needs.
