Below is a ring plan for our show on Saturday, judging commences in all rings at 10am. Breed entry figures are now available also.
Owing to the fact that Elizabet Caminade Lavault has exceeded her 150 dogs allowed to judge on the day, whippets will now be judged by Steve Dainard from Canada.

❌ RAPESEED! ❌

It’s that time of year again where farmers fields have blossomed into pretty yellow flowers, these plants are called rapeseed. Although it may be tempting to place your dog in the mist to take a scenic photo, please avoid this at all costs!

Rapeseed is extremely poisonous for dogs, especially in highly sensitive canines.

Rapeseed is listed by Dogs Trust as toxic to our dogs if ingested and can cause symptoms such as:

❌Haemolytic Anaemia
❌ Blindness
❌ Damaged Nervous System
❌ Digestive Disorders
❌ Breathing Problems

Even walking through these fields should be avoided! In June 2019, a dog has been reported to suffer from severe open wounds after running through a crop of rapeseed.

Please seek immediate veterinary attention if your dog shows any signs of rapeseed poisoning!

💥PLEASE READ💥

The amount of dogs being stolen in the last week is off the charts. There is a major problem with people purchasing pups and other dogs from the likes of Done Deal and they are paying obscene amounts of money to some extremely unscrupulous individuals who will tell them whatever they think they need to in order to sell the dog. I fear the recent spate of thefts may be connected to this recent demand for dogs. The thefts are happening in rural and urban areas. Dont let your dog be next!

👉Never leave your dog out alone. It's not safe.
👉Have eyes on your dog at ALL times. Even at home in the garden.
👉Be aware of unfamiliar vehicles passing your house repeatedly.
👉Chip your dog and make sure its registered
👉Use a secure harness/collar for walking
👉Spay/Neuter your dog. This will help prevent theft for the purpose of breeding. No excuses.
👉Ensure you have a recent photo.

It only takes 5 seconds for your dog to vanish. Be smart. Stay alert. Your dog will thank you. Please can i ask you to share❤

IRISH KENNEL CLUB DECISION
ALL SHOWS CANCELLED FOR 2020

Dear Exhibitors/Members,

The Board of the Irish Kennel Club took the difficult decision to postpone the two IKC International Shows in March in the hope that we could re-schedule later in the year. As stated at the time, the Board confirmed that exhibitors who entered these shows would be credited within the IKC accountancy system and the monies ring fenced into a designated bank account, and this is the case.

The situation has developed to a stage where the re-scheduling of these events is not possible, so they are now officially cancelled.
In this regard, the Board of the IKC has now taken the decision to issue a refund of your entry fees, less a service charge of 3 Euro per transaction to cover external administration costs. We are working with our external provider and we will complete this task as soon as possible, so please bear with us.

Regarding our office, in line with Governments Road Map for return to work, the IKC are happy to announce that we expect to re-open on 29th June (initially no public front desk). We are delighted our members have continued to support us by submitting your applications on-line and by post and our staff are eager to return to work to process same. Regarding IKC Judges Licence the Board has decided that as there is no opportunity to judge this year the current judging licences will be valid until the end of 2021. We thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Finally, and taking into account the instructions and policies of the Government and the Health Authority in these challenging times, the Board has made the difficult decision to cancel all Dog Show licences for 2020.

Regarding An Ard Comhairle meetings, we will of course arrange a meeting as soon as this is permitted, and proper protocol is in place. (Probably in NSC).

Take care over the next couple of months and we are looking forward to the day when we can all meet again at our many canine events.
