This is a very difficult post to write.

We have come to the end of the road with Higgins. The fosterer cannot keep him and we have no where for him to go. We have done numerous posts advertising and begging people to consider fostering or adopting him.

Only a week after successfully finding homes for three dogs with cropped ears on death row in Dublin Pound we are ashamed to admit one of our very own dogs is in that situation now.

We had a couple of people apply but as soon as we looked for more information they never got back to us despite repeated attempts to contact them.

Three year old Higgins is great with kids and with people. He is not good with cats. His house training was going great until he had to go to an outside kennel due to cats in the house. He is strong but very trainable. Higgins is a super boy and doesn’t deserve to be in this situation.

So only a week before Christmas and our hearts are broken over this predicament. This is his last chance . Please don’t slam us for not putting him in commercial kennels. Most don’t take his breed now and it’s not fair on him to languish in kennels with no applications for adoption.

Higgins is fine with other easy going dogs after proper introductions. He is neutered already.

Below are the opening hours for the days leading up to Christmas.
Also late opening Thu & Fri until 7pm
Sun 12-3pm
Mon 3-6pm
Xmas Eve 12-3pm

🎁 All toys on and under the Christmas tree are reduced.

🐕 All harnesses, collars, jumpers and coats reduced. Limited sizes only left. Mainly very small and large sizes.

🥩 For those who buy frozen food I will be open up after Christmas by appointment so if you don’t want to bulk buy due to limited freezer space at home this time of year you can message me and I’ll arrange a time that suits you to open shop.

This will also apply for anyone else who may have run out of supplies during the festive period.

This is going to be a severe storm so I’m begging you not to leave them outside alone, afraid and to perish while you are nice and cosy and safe inside.

Stock up on batteries, candles and charge all phones etc in advance.

Stay safe and be mindful of you and others during these storms.

Status Red warnings have officially be issued for Clare, Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal, with further upgrades to other areas very much possible as we go through the afternoon and evening hours.

Storm Darragh is a risk to life weather event with widespread damage and disruption likely in the aforementioned areas and with further damage likely in the areas under a Status Orange weather warning.

As predicted a number of days ago now here on Irelands Weather Channel, Storm Darragh, has the potential to be the strongest storm witnessed since Hurricane Ophelia in 2017, and on par with Storm Darwin of 2014.

Please secure any lose objects over the coming hours, have batteries or candles on standby in the event of power failures, refrain from travelling during the warning times tonight and generally stay up to date with the latest weather warnings.
