Two year old Corrib Phoenix enjoyed her training session this afternoon. She is in excellent condition, five months after her litter. KITTY Cat & DOGGY Dog is an excellent food and all our dogs are in superb condition. I'm looking forward to the spring and summer months training this big girl, weighing 33kg/73lbs. Phoenix is a daughter of our FTCH Corrib Fern and sired by FTCH Millbuies Ghillie. 🐾🐾❤️🇮🇪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Lovely couple of hours had out this afternoon in the field with this gentleman and his spaniels. It's always an honour to walk behind John and his excellent hunting spaniels, and it's nice to have our Oscar at heel.....another day's education for all.

My absolute admiration and respect goes to my good friend Sarah and her Crosshairs Labradors.........Sarah travelled on her own and arrived to our place in Shannon, Ireland on Thursday morning after a combined road/boat trip of 35 hours from door to door, to have her Crosshairs Debbie Eagan aka Glow mated to our FTCH Corrib Jasper. Thankfully the two matings went well and straightforward!
Sarah has just left now on her return journey back to Cologne, Germany. The passion and drive that Sarah puts into her breeding programme and to take in such a massive journey just days before Christmas just shows you how important her Crosshairs Labradors are to her and no journey is too big for the dog she wants to introduce to her breeding programme. Fingers crossed that all goes well with Glow and we are very excited to see what arrives in nine weeks time. Safe journey home Sarah and see you soon 🐾🐾❤️🇮🇪🇩🇪

Some get so ingrained into your soul that you can't describe what they mean to you...........it's not about the rosettes in competition, however they are nice too......it's about the memories they give you and the places they take you and the friendships they create...........

Ben Hynes with Penny (Jasper's Daughter), and Myself with Oscar, and Jasper had a fantastic day's picking up today on the amazing Illaunmore Shoot in Co Clare. The birds, the grounds especially the superb crops made for some serious retrieves for our younger dogs which is such valuable education/experience that will help them going forward on their field trial careers. Massive well done to the keeper Michael Minehan who is doing an outstanding job and year after year is producing quality days 👏🏻 we are so grateful to have the opportunity to help out with the picking up on such excellent ground.

Another great day had today in Co Clare, competing at The Irish Field Trial Association's Open Stake Retriever Trial. The weather was very kind today compared to yesterday's weather!! I am delighted to have won with our special dog FTCH Corrib Jasper who had the luck today. Well done to Ian Davis with his very stylish bitch Cialfo Zatopek who came 2nd. Thank you to all involved in the running of today's trial especially the markers who did a superb job again 👏🏻 Thank you to the club and all involved with the running of the trial and thank you to the judges Sean, Liam, and Kyle for giving all handlers the same opportunity to show what their dogs a can do. Not a bad weekend for our Corrib Gundogs Team with Oscar coming 2nd yesterday in his first Trial and our Jasper winning today's trial which is his sixth win to date, and to think retirement from competition at the young age of six years was discussed coming into this season for Jasper so we can focus more on our younger dogs Oscar, Pete and Phoenix!! However Jasper doesn't agree with that idea 🤣😎🐾🐾❤️🇮🇪

Good Boy Oscar !!
Today was my third run as a handler of this season in field trials and it's three trials we finished, FTCH Corrib Jasper was placed 2nd and 4th in the last two and today it was our Corrib Oscar's first run in a trial!!! I was delighted with how he ran and handled different obstacles on a very difficult day weather wise where scent was not the best. The standard of the four award winners today was at a very high level as the judges stated in their speech afterwards. It's always fantastic to finish a trial and always extra special when the dogs are neck and neck in their work throughout the day. Six rounds of retrieves gave the judges enough to place the dogs, even though a long discussion was had between them afterwards looking through their notes. Excellent day all round and thank you to the judges, William, Oliver, and David for their time and to all involved in today's trial ran by Ennis and District Gun Dog Club, a special thank you also goes to the helpers/markers today, without them we would not be able have such successful field trial days. My programme from today is unreadable due to the rain! So apologies for not having the dogs names however very well done and congratulations to the following handlers and their dogs on their excellent performances 👏🏻
