Dear customers,
Im so sorry for anyone who I haven’t gotten back to lately but after a hard decision I’m very sad to say after almost 6 years in business, Dapper Doodles has had to close. I just want to thank you all so much for your business and support over the years. Please give your pups an extra big cuddle from me and if anyone needs recommendations on a new groomer I will happily pass on contacts of local groomers ❤️

Hey folks, thanks once again for bearing with me while I’m out sick again. It’s been a tough year, and especially as a small business missing work is the absolute last thing I want to do. I will be in touch with everyone who I have to reschedule soon, and I have everyone waiting for appointments on a list which I will make my way through although I may have to take less appointments per day for a couple of weeks. In the meantime, here’s some pretty pooches who got spruced up before I got struck down 🥰❤️

There’s lots of upsides to being self employed-
setting your own hours, working at your own pace with your own style, being able to use what products you want, great job satisfaction, and of course getting to hog all the puppy cuddles for myself 😉
But there’s also downsides too which are hard to deal with.
Especially when you’re sick and you can’t just call your boss and have your shift covered by someone else.
Not being able to work not only means not getting paid, which isn’t the end of the world, but also letting down people who have booked in and possibly have been waiting for weeks.
I’m so so grateful for all my customers and how understanding you all are when life’s little problems get thrown into the works, it honestly makes my life so much easier knowing what amazing people you all are!

I’ll be back in action next week and ready for all the puppy cuddles again! ❤️ since I won’t have my usual pup roundup pictures this week, please accept some more Miso pictures. I can’t believe how much he’s grown in just 2.5 weeks! 😹🐾🖤

I am so glad all todays appointments were okay with postponing, I was out for 10 minutes to hang out a wash and I’m melting already! 🥵 tomorrows appointments have also been rearranged for early in the morning or postponed to next week, hopefully the rest of the week will be more manageable! Please please keep your dogs safe in this weather. Don’t even think about bringing them out for a walk in this!!

A beautiful end to a beautiful week! So good to help these pups freshen up and cool down before the heatwave next week 🥵 for safety reasons I will be closing the parlour on Monday due to the forecasted temperatures, I’ll play it by ear for the rest of the week and be in contact with anyone if appointments need to be swapped around 😘

With the temperatures rising, the grooming salon tends to get very hot, especially with the dryers going. While I will do everything in my power to ensure your dogs safety while they are here, if you feel the heat may be too much for them (especially for older dogs, young puppies or any with short noses who struggle in the heat) please don’t hesitate to contact me to rearrange the appointment for another time when it may be cooler. Depending on how hot it gets I may have to move appointments around but I will see how the week goes!

This weeks dapper doodles crew feeling fresh and fabulous! It’s coming into summer now, which means it’s a great time to make sure your pets are up to date with their flea and tick preventatives! I’m not exaggerating when I say every second dog here this week had a tick trying to come along for a free groom (which were swiftly removed and not so humanely disposed of 😂) they seem to be particularly rampant this year.
Speak to your vet to see what treatment will work best for your pet, and please only use reputable medications from the vets or certain ones from pet shops which are usually kept locked away. If you can pick it up off a shelf yourself, it probably won’t work. A lot of parasites have become immune to them so make sure you get the good stuff!

☀️ The sun has been out -most- of the week, so this weeks pups really appreciate their fresh hairdo to be all set for summer!
🐩 Just a little note to say I am almost fully booked out for the month of June, and while I do try my best to fit everyone in unfortunately there’s only so many dogs I can do in a day for both my own and your pups safety, and to ensure each dog in my care gets my total attention for their pamper!
⏰ As much as I’d love to fit in everyone who calls the very next day, summer (as well as Christmas) is one of the busiest times for groomers so there will be a wait of a couple of weeks.
📔 The best thing to do is to make your next appointment when you are collecting your pup from their groom to avoid disappointment and keep them on schedule!
🐶 Unfortunately due to how busy it is, I’m not taking on new customers for the dapper doodles crew at the moment. Im happy to recommend other local groomers but there’s no guarantee they won’t have a wait either!!

Hey folks, thank you all so much for your patience and understanding while I’ve had to take this week off of work. I got hit with a bad chest infection last week and it got worse over the weekend but I’m on the right track again now and will hopefully be back next week! On top of all that though, we lost our beautiful boy Cream yesterday. A lot of you saw him or met him, or heard me talking about the woes of his epilepsy and diabetes, or questioned my mothers sanity seeing her walking him around the garden here. He had a hard fight but he’s been the most amazing boy for the last 13 years and earned his rest over the bridge now 🌈 xx

Sometimes when dogs are very nervous it’s good to take a step back and re-introduce the grooming process to them again, and have lots of fun while we do it 🥰

Short haired dogs benefit from grooming too! Tom will be feeling much lighter with all that dead hair gone, and it’ll be that much less to float around at home too 😂
