Life is just a little bit busy with work and kids and parrots. Finding is hard to get the time to respond to everyone right now. There have been a lot of training and advice phone calls lately which we are delighted about. Hope to have a space with general information available for parrot issues soon.

Donations have dropped to 0 again. Actually in the negative for the first time in a while.

Barney needs increased medication to deal with his arthritis and we are wat hing him carefully but he is doing well otherwise.

Bella has the hopes of the most incredible home soon, just trying or organise a day to visit which suits them and me. As ye know I do not do visits during the week due to multiple responsibilities and weekends are generally full of cleaning or life.

In dire need of some xl coffee perches at the minute if anyone has any in stock let me know.

All the birds got their morning warm porridge made with organic oats and water with some guardian angel, flax seeds and milled chia seeds.

Trying to get back to as many people as possible but once you get me on the phone the consulting phone call can last up to 2 hrs. This is why I am slow to get back to people.

We have potentials for Bella the macaw and Twister.

Two conures are to be collected before Christmas.

Still looking for homes for some tame but need work birds, aviary birds and cockatoos and another amazon and grey. Drop me a pm. All messages are to come through the page, any messages directly to myself will not be replied to. I am trying to have a personal life too

Please remember I am only human, one person, a mum, an employee, a sister, a daughter a parrot caretaker and my other pets need care too. Your messages will be answered. If we don't have a bird suitable for you then please bear with us as one may come up. We match thr bird to the person

Gentle reminder that if you have no parrot experience then you are immediately limited to smaller birds. Simply because the larger ones can cause significant damage to you, to themselves and they can come with huge behavioural issues.

We are extremely busy at the rescue. We have an update on two of our previous residences. Beautiful Houdini the African grey got an amazing home with wonderful owners. We are very proud of him. He was saved by the ISPCA and placed in the hands of Parrot Rescue Ireland, where he was assessed for his needs and behaviours. He has responded very well to his rehabilitation care plan program and will continue his care plan in his new home with his experienced owners. Houdini has been reunited with Starlight, brought in from the same seizure and the two were strongly bonded. They came into the rescue together, they are now back together.
When Houdini first arrived at the rescue. He had no name so we started to call him Mr bean within a few days. He spoke to us and said "My name is Houdini" and from that day on we called him Houdini. He is an amazing talker, he is never quiet.
It was amazing to be able to care for these two birds for the past few months and successfully home them together.

We have a number of rehomes happening. And many more in progress which is brilliant.

Reminder that we do have some larger parrots, (cockatoos, amazons, ring neck) that are not tame and would suit an aviary setting. Please do get in touch.

Many smaller aviary birds available also, from budgies, cockateil, kakariki, conure, bourke, rosella, parrotlette, plum head, kakariki.

Tame but need work are below.
Amazon, cockatoo (female only home), conure, cockateil, love bird.

So true. Birds can be a just one person pet. They may take a dislike to all other humans and cause harm to them if they come between their human. They can also have a preference for male or female humans.

This is one of the main reasons for rehoming.

Could those who are already approved for adoption please get in touch today by messaging the page.

No more adoptions other than those approved will go through before Christmas time. This is to ensure no spur of the minute birds end up on houses not 100% ready.

That weather is wild. All structures have survived. delighted I anchored them to the concrete when I built them.
The wind is still wild but I do have power so staying put.

I will need to do a run yo get veg later if anyone wants to donate for thr veg. Our last call for help brought in enough funds for a week and a half of seed/pellets.
