Our 2023 year is coming to an end, always makes me have mixed emotions looking back through the pictures, especially seeing the old dogs we have lost over the year 💔 It been another fantastic year for me professionally, diary is never not full & the phone is always ringing. I have learned this year to allow myself to have time off & not feel (that) guilty about. My job is 24/7, I don’t close the door at 6PM & pick up the next day so downtime is something I have put value on & will continue to do so in 2024. I have a few weekends & weeks booked off throughout the year, which I will update you on when I return to work on the 8th. Once again thank you for your amazing support throughout the year, for trusting me with your two (hens & ducks) three and four legged family, it is the best job & I love all your pets like they are my own & they give me such joy. The world is a sad & scary place at the moment, so we must remember to value the important things in life, it really doesn’t matter what we have possession wise, once we have our families, friends, our beautiful pets, peace and our health- all that matters. Wishing you all a peaceful, happy and hopeful new year. Kate, Mark & Holly woo 💕
***SWIMMING FOR DOGS***
The benefits of swimming or even walking in the water for dogs is just as good as it is for us humans. Exercising in water has the benefit of providing both buoyancy and resistance, making it possible to strengthen and condition muscles and build endurance without placing stress on joints.
Even walking your dog in the water at belly height can have amazing results such as for arthritis, any mobility issues, fitness, weight loss and also for cuts/abrasions.
The only major thing to be aware of is to not allow your dog to intake salt water-so no throwing balls into the water for them as with every time they catch the ball they take a mouthful of water.
As you can see some dogs absolutely love it like miss mollie and snoopy who often go in for their own swim. We are extremely lucky living in Sligo with the vast amount of beaches we have, so next time your on the beach with your dog, take 10 minutes to do a water walk with them. You will definitely see the results and benefits.
Welcome to the family 😍😍😍 penny our call duck hatched out 7 out of 7 ducklings all on her own. How adorable are they 😍😍😍 she’s an excellent mum and works so hard minding them all and teaching them life’s lessons that only a mother could. Something to cheer you all up on a Sunday evening 😘
This is every night with Holly 😂😂😂 she sleeps on her back, 4 paws in the air, snores her head off & is always dreaming and barking. She looks possessed in this 😂😂😂
First swim in their new pool 😍😍😍😍 #callducks #callducksofinstagram #swimming #ducksofinstagram #havingfun #love
In my absolute element 😂 lokrum island has hundreds of rabbits & peacocks 😍 #holidayvibes #dubrovnik #lokrumisland #lokrum #rabbits #peacocks #holidays #fun #onehappylady
I had the best evening with Holly & Mark @ Lower Rosses, we all braved the water, cold at the start but we warmed up. Any time I was joking shouting help, Holly would swim out beside me, lick my face and if I held on to her harness would swim back into shore with me. Absolutely loving this weather!!!
Makes me smile knowing how far he’s come. Magnus is back doing his usual chasing and barking at the water 😍 look at him running 😍
The rain got all the dogs to move faster 😂 great dog walking weather #strandhill #gostrandhill #sligo #fun #dogwalking #herecomestgerain #soaked #dogsofinstagram #smalldogs #worklife #knocknareapetservices #knocknareamountain
Sometimes coming home from holidays isn't too bad when you get to see these two rascals 😍😍😍😍
Little video of how my day normally is 😍 lucky to have such a fantastic job
Another fantastic review! Milly & Molly were two girls rescued from a puppy farm & had spent their life in a shed. They were terrified of everyone. Loved other dogs but petrified of humans. Look at them now ❤️ I'm so proud of these two & how far they have come. This was after not seeing them for a week 😂
Here's a lovely review from there mommy Couldn't recommend Kate enough for the work she does with our special pooches - this time last year I rescued 2 little westies from the ISPCA, they were so timid & nervous I thought I had taken on an impossible task but with a lot of help & advice from Kate I can't believe the difference, they are so happy now - we've gone from when they saw the leads 'cowering behind the couch' to 'dancing around either me or poor Kate that it's hard to get the leads on them their so excited - happy days thank you Kate 😂😂😂
This is just a small video of Rocco & his antics today. He was running riot in the woods. For such a small dog he sure has some energy & LOVES getting dirty
