🔔 Ireland’s Best Kept Village 2025 🔔

Due to our excellent performance in the SuperValu Ireland Tidy Towns competition; Riverstown has been nominated to participate in Ireland's Best Kept Village Competition 2025!!

This competition is an all island initiative organised jointly by the Department of Rural and Community Community Development & the Northern Ireland Amenity Council. There are 14 entries for the competition divided between the 32 counties.

Entry is by invitation only which a great complement! Adjudication will take place in May 2025.

It will take a lot of work to be ready for May 1st and we are up for it! It is a great opportunity to bring a national award to the village and county for the first time. Can you imagine how fabulous an ‘Ireland’s Best Kept Village’ sign would look at the entrance to our village!

The Sligo County Agricultural Show, Riverstown are deeply saddened by the passing of Seamus Cawley. Seamus and his wife Patricia have been loyal sponsors and volunteers at our County Show.

A true gentleman and will be deeply missed.

We extend our sincere sympathies to Seamus’s beloved wife, Patricia as well as his brothers, Hugh, Michael and Martin, his sister, Rita and his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and relatives.


Rest In Peace, Seamus.

Tonight 21st of September in Tommy Mac’s Pub, Riverstown we will have a well deserved night out for all our volunteers, sponsors and committee members after a successful 2024 County Agricultural Show 🥳

There will be finger food, drink and entertainment! Promised to be a great night!
