Our Photo Exhibition will run again from 1st to 23rd December in the Dormitory upstairs over Holycross Abbey Gift Shop during Shop opening hours - Monday to Saturday 10am to 4pm, Sunday 11.30am to 4pm (closed for lunch 1 to 1.30pm). All are welcome.

THE GALA CHRISTMAS CONCERT EVENT AT HOLYCROSS ABBEY
The Magic Begins
The First-Ever Gala Christmas Concert at Holycross Abbey ‘’One Abbey One Night’’
The countdown is on! In just three weeks, Holycross Abbey will come alive for the first ever Gala Christmas Concert — an unforgettable evening of music, storytelling, and tradition set within the Abbey’s candlelit, historic walls. There is something for everyone at this concert.

What to Expect on the Night

1. Part One –

The night will begin with the Ballycahill Choir a truly accomplished ensemble, known for its warm blend, and musical precision, directed by the elegant Louise Corbet.

We are incredibly lucky to welcome BrĂș BorĂș performing group. Immerse yourself in the wonder of Christmas through a rich mix of traditional Irish, and festive melodies. Harp, fiddle, and choral harmonies will fill the Abbey. You must come to witness this unique event.

2. Part Two –

The Tomb of the Good Woman’s Son, performed by the local Drama Group and directed by the exceptionally talented and captivating Claire Ryan.
Experience a moving dramatization in the Abbey, one of the Abbey’s most poignant legends. Through narration, and performance, this story will be brought to life where history and folklore meet in the Abbey. This will be unforgettable.

Expect a captivating poetry recital “A Walk Through the Village.” narrated by the accomplished Pat Slattery. who will take you on a nostalgic walk through the village. Anyone who has ever heard Pat recite this poem have been heard to say, “I walked the village with you.” It is indeed a masterpiece.

Be enchanted by a solo performance by the talented Mark Gorman, showcasing his remarkable vocal artistry. Hear a voice as smooth as velvet which will fill the Abbey with unforgettable melodies.

The Finale: A stirring closing performance by ‘’Dwan and Only" bringing the evening to a memorable conclusion.

So, do not be one of those people who will say I am so sorry I missed this unique event- so buy the ticket and join us on the night It will be spectacular.

Join us today at 2pm in Holycross Community Centre for our AUCTION & SALE OF WORK—Stalls include Home Baking, Books, Lucky Dip, Lucky Square, Gifts & Tuck Shop. On stage will be the Wheel of Fortune and outside, the Auction will be held with lots of great quality timber, a freezer ready lamb and other goods. The canteen will be open for teas. Your support for this event is very important as all proceeds go to Holycross and Ballycahill National Schools and Community Centres. All support will be much appreciated.

AUCTION & SALE OF WORK—SUNDAY 23rd NOVEMBER: At 2pm in Holycross Community Centre. Raffle tickets are currently on sale with excellent prizes. Stalls on the day include Home Baking, Books, Lucky Dip, Lucky Square, Gifts & Tuck Shop. On stage will be the Wheel of Fortune and outside, the Auction will be held with lots of great quality timber, a freezer ready lamb and other goods. The canteen will be open for teas. Your support for this event is very important as all proceeds go to Holycross and Ballycahill National Schools and Community Centres. We would be grateful for any of the following: home baking, books, groceries, alcohol, soft drinks, baskets, unused electrical items and other goods suitable for the Wheel of Fortune and Auction. These can be dropped to the Community Centre on Saturday between 4pm and 6pm or Sunday from 9.30am or call 0504-43124 to arrange collection. All donations and support will be much appreciated.
