🍫Don’t forget to keep those sweet treats out of reach 🍫
Chocolate toxicity is very common in our canine companions especially over the Christmas period🎄

While humans are partial to a treat chocolate toxicity in dogs can cause life threatening effects such as heart rhythm problems and seizure.

Chocolate contains theobromine and caffeine which can causes mild symptoms like vomiting and in some severe cases seizure and coma.

Darker bitter chocolate contain higher levels therefore are more dangerous.

What should I do if my pet eats chocolate?
Ring your vet for advice, keep the packaging of the chocolate - pets treated promptly can make a full recovery 🐾

So overall it’s best to keep those sweet treats out of paws reach 🐶🐾

This clip shows the dental process start to finish and each step taken to ensure your pet is comfortable and happy during their stay. Eamon noticed Fantine had smelly breath and on examination a build up of plaque on her teeth. We ask if you will please phone in anything you require before arriving and payment can be taken over the phone. How cute are these two 😍🐱 Luna and Loki came in for neutering last week 🐈 both very energetic and playful one hour after surgery 🙈 It’s now breeding season for cats so make sure to have yours neutered!!

Check your pet for ticks... here’s what they look like... Ticks are more common this time of year - they also carry Lyme disease which can make dogs really sick and is hard to diagnose. We recently diagnosed a case of Lyme disease in an elderly dog here in our clinic 😢 it’s important to regularly check your pet for ticks and use treatments to prevent them 🤞🏻 If you want to protect your pet from tick bites pop into the clinic for a tick treatment or handy tick remover 🐶
