It's tick season at the minute and they are out on force.
Everyday we are seeing ticks on pets. This photo here shows the bullseye lesion from a tick bite that is the most common early sign of lymes disease.

Mairead delivered Faye by cesarean section a few months ago. She called in to see us this week before she goes to her new home. She's an absolute credit to her family.
What breed is she? #arravets #arrapets #prettypup #newpuppy
Saying goodbye is hard πΎ
We have a special approach here at Arra Vets and support families at this time through the end-of-life stages by providing palliative care for pets.
When the time comes to say goodbye we are there for you too.
Providing peaceful and pain-free euthanasia is very important to us.
We have a family room in the clinic so pets and their family can feel comfortable.
We are happy to provide home euthanasia where we can for families.
We also like to provide pet owners with prints of their pets, as a way to remember them and bring some comfort at this difficult time.
If you have any questions when it comes to euthanasia, we know it can be a difficult topic, please reach out.
We are here to support you, and your pet, every step of the way.

Another way to show how committed we are to providing the highest level of care to our patients and also to their owners.
We perform ultrasound scans on our patients when further diagnostic work up is required πΎ
Some areas of the body that might be scanned are:
ππ» The Abdomen
ππ» The Heart
ππ» The Chest cavity
ππ» A pregnancy scan
and many more...
This ultrasound scan is showing a dogs abdomen, where we found free fluid (the dark/black area on the scan) that might indicate a bleeding disorder, presence of a tumour or trauma.
Ultrasound scans are used as a diagnostic tool, along with a thorough physical examination and other tests, as required.
We are very lucky to also have Gemma Oβ Donoghue, a specialist, visit us regularly and provide exceptional service for our clients.
Can you see the free fluid?
Check out more on our website ππ»
