An incredible Monday morning read..! We were contacted by Seal Rescue Ireland, based in Courtown, Co. Wexford. They had received a call about an orphan seal found in Doonbeg, Co. Clare. A Pup seal, likely to be only 1 month old (most rescue seals are pups - not clever enough to swim where they won’t get transported or washed up). Usually seals are transported directly to Wexford but this little guy needed somewhere to stay overnight. This little chap was the first rescue seal to have an overnight stay anywhere. He travelled yesterday to Wexford to the sealrescueireland this is the only seal rescue centre in Ireland. He will be taught how to feed and fend for himself in lieu of his mother and family. This process takes months! Most rescue seals are docile and quiet, this one was loud and alert🫶 Seal Rescue Ireland has over 600 wonderful volunteers throughout the country. Today we were helped by volunteers Aoife and Todd.
