Unfortunately it has come to our attention that the risk of 'Avian Bird Flu' to native Irish wild birds is growing. The advice from the Department of Agriculture, food and marine, is to NOT take in any wild birds at present. The guidance states that if you see a bird in distress or have any concerns, that you contact your local County Council immediatly and/or report this on the link shared below. Please also remember to protect yourselves and don't handle any wild birds, alive or dead. We are sorry for any inconcenience caused. https://aviancheck.apps.rhos.agriculture.gov.ie

*Do you know this cat's owner??*

This female cat was brought to us yesterday by a passer by who saw her getting hit by a car near the Ballyroe Heights Hotel. She is well and looking to be reunited with her owner.

Can you give this sweetheart the 5 star home she deserves??

'Wednesday' presented to us as a very timid stray with a nasty injury to her back leg. Unfortunately the leg could not be salvaged and had to be amputated. She has however, made a fantastic recovery and thanks to the kindness and patience of our head nurse Lisa, Wednesday has come on leaps and bounds and is now ready to move on to her forever home. She would fit in very well in a quiet household. Email us at [email protected] if you think you could welcome Wednesday into your heart and home ❤

💎Did you know that animals can get bladder stones?!💎

We recently saw a dog who had been straining to urinate and passing blood in his urine.

👉A urine sample run in our lab contained lots of mineral crystals and red blood cells.
👉To further investigate, the bladder was inflated with air to create contrast for an X-ray. This showed that the crystals had come together to form a stone.
👉The stone was removed via cystotomy surgery in which a small incision is made in the bladder.

This little guy has made a great recovery and we hope he will be a lot more comfortable from now on!

💦If you notice any change in your pet's urination habits, don't hesitate to book an appointment to have them examined by one of our vets.
