Thoroughbreds have terrible hooves🐴

Unfortunately this is a common myth and one we hear almost daily. But we have to disagree.
Many thoroughbreds are shod very early, some as yearlings, and their hooves never stood a chance to develop as they were meant to.

Luckily people like Chris help to put an end to that old fairytale and show that it is not the hooves but what we put on them (and what we feed them).

“AWESOME SERVICE...GREAT PRODUCT
So impressed with the Scoot Boots I purchased for my pony who has had laminitis. I bought them for exercising but also if she was feeling the ground in paddock. She was just trimmed and we had to pull her toe back quite a bit so was really feeling the hard ground. I put the boots on her whilst in paddock and she is completely sound. Normally I would have to Bute her and wrap feet..they fit perfect with no rubbing so a great alternative to medicating. Very Happy 😃”

Customs are So annoying! Some new scoots arrived to ireland within 3 days of shipping but I was away and didn’t notice they were stuck in customs. A quick email later and they have now been released but will have to wait until Monday to enjoy them 🙈 everything takes time so if you need any kind of hoof boot for an event make sure you get fitted and ordered in plenty of time

It’s not just our horses feet that are important, although it’s a good place to start, another important part of your horse you want to be comfortable is their mouth. It’s where you connect and communicate. 11 years we have been together and tonight for the first time since she was a young horse without her opinions or knowledge of bits she seems truly happy in her mouth. Don’t give up, i don’t think it’s wise the change bits every other week but learn the horses signs for what they do and don’t like, don’t be afraid to try things. We also tried bitless but it isn’t for us. understand that your horses training and how you control your hands is also very important. Tonight (after kids bed time) we had a break through and it’s great to know she was happy AND I had control in the big field. Long may it continue.

I have been using my 1st pair of Scoot Boots (on the front hooves) for a year and they still look new! I use them 3 times a week for 2-3 hours on gravel roads. Did you know, scoots can be worn in the field during turnout? You could even use just 1 boot to protect a foot recovering from a problem but was able or needed some field time.
Another option would be fitting the glue on scoot boot skins, more on those next time
