Two lurchers left us this morning Dog Ref 260 now called Sparky and Dog Ref 273 our wee Star.
Both arrived safe and sound at their Rescue Placement in Almost Home Animal Rescue NI.
Huge thanks to Karen Ian and the team for rescuing these two lovely dogs.Star went straight to her vets to be further assessed on her skin condition.
Anyone else out there who re-homed from same litter in 2019 ?you might find this interesting .
"Hi, I rehomed a pup from yourselves in July 2019. She was one of an abandoned litter of labrador/pointer mix pups. I recently did a wisdom dna panel to see her breed make up and thought that anyone who got one of her siblings might be interested in seeing it."

Poor baby covered in nasty scabs , horrible skin condition , eye infection , dehydrated , starving , skin stretched over her ribs - found under a hedge...
Only @ 16 weeks old .
Surprise surprise no microchip..
If not reclaimed by an "owner" this baby will need a home sometime next week . She has received initial veterinary care and is now currently curled up on a comfy duvet .

UPDATE 8.8.24 : RESCUE SPACE NOW SECURED
The original rescue that was due to take this boy has very kindly agreed to make space for him . Just have to arrange his transport to Kerry now.... If anyone can help either all or part of the journey please send a text to 0879634121 ( a large crate or secure area in a vehicle will be needed ) .
This fella is a 2 year old non neutered male Collie mix . He was surrendered to monaghan county council dog pound due to issues with the 2 young children in the household .
The owner had previously made a surrender appointment a few weeks previously but failed to show .
He wasn`t posted on the page as he had secured a rescue placement , due to be collected 2 days later . The rescue transport was traveling from a considerable distance ( over 4 hours one way !) and was also collecting other dogs at the same time .
On the collection day this fella`s previous owner contacted the pound to say he would like to reclaim the dog , approx 1.5 hours prior to transport arriving... Despite some concerns but with assurances from the previous owner a reclaim appointment was made for the following day .
Unfortunately again the previous owner was a no show... and this boy had missed his opportunity on the transport vehicle .
An added issue is that this fella displays considerable aggression with any other dog that goes near him . He is young enough for rehabilitation but will require the expertise and guidance and time prior to being placed in a new home .
Due to council pound time restrictions he has until 8.8.24 to find a placement .

MISSING two 13 year old spayed female dogs missing now presumed stolen from Clonmel Co.Tipperary on Friday 2nd of August.
Devastated family with two autistic kids who have been hysterical since. Please if anyone has any information let us know.

Info : Lovely markings and stunning 2 color eyes this fella is a large boy with a heart full of affection . He adores cuddles and attention and thrives on human interaction . Is definitely NOT suitable as a working dog unless "working" is sitting by your side all day !
He insists on being house living and will become a constant shadow for his new owner . Currently not used to lead walking but this can be easily rectified with a bit of gentle patience . Unknown if ok with other dogs / children / not cat tested . Needs a spacious secure garden / yard to ensure his safety at all times . Preferably a new home where his chosen person/persons are at home most of the time to compliment his very sociable personality .

Ref 270 - male terrier (neutered) surrendered . Advised 4 years old . Friendly very active , no children , not good with other dogs .
Ref 263 - young male collie ( 1.5 - 2.5 years ? ) admitted as a stray , very frightened initially , had never been on a lead . No previous history , maybe a farm / yard dog . Gently friendly now with staff , advise no children / unknown if ok with other dogs / cats / suggest older quieter home .
Ref 257 - young female mastiff approx 1 year . admitted as stray . No previous history . Unknown if ok with children / other dogs / cats . Experience of breed or similar advised .

The little Collie pup with the broken leg ( ref 251 ) and the 2 tiny pensioners ( dogs ref 255 and 256 ) left monaghan county council dog pound on thursday for their rescue center placement .
Happy result for these 3 beauties x

He's a very small brown male dog, terrier mix . His name is Bear Bear. He is friendly & timid. He's very cute & has a lovely temperament. He's missing over 2 weeks now , he has never been away from us for this length of time and our hearts are broke. From time to time we send nervous dogs to rescue to decompress and to be socialised properly before rehoming. Everyone meet Spencer the timid Spaniel X who was very shut down when he came into the pound . The guys at Brighteyes Animal Sanctuary took him in last Friday. He was allowed mix with the volunteers who know not to frighten or do any sudden movements as he is very nervous. You can see the volunteers allowing him express himself and mix with them in his own time. This is a side of rescue you don't see.the time and effort put into a dog to enable stability and bring Spencer on to being a happy contented dog. Huge thanks to the team at Brighteyes a fabulous rescue who have taken many dogs from us that need a little extra work before rehoming .
