Hi everyone I'm delighted to announce my brand new therapy Pet Bereavement Counselling!
As an animal lover and pet owner myself I understand the heartache of saying goodbye to our beloved pets.
This therapy is for anyone who needs someone to confide in about their loss, feel heard and supported through all stages of their grief and work together on setting little goals to help people adjust to a different daily way of life. Meditation/Reiki Healing will also be incorporated into these sessions if the client feels comfortable and ready for it to help in the healing process of their loss and send healing to their pet in the Spirit world also to connect with them and they can let you know they are safe and well and maybe even share a memory or two.
A session can be in person or online whichever you are comfortable with, each session will be 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes.

African Pygmy Hedgehogs are very interesting and amazing little creatures you can come across a lot more nowadays as pets on social media, in pet shops and are also used in advertising. While they are very interesting and amazing they do need a lot of care and attention especially with the temperature they need to be kept at constantly, their set-up and diet as some hedgies can become a bit more "cuddly"😅 than others if they are eating higher in fat foods. These hedgehogs also have different personalities, some are happy to be handled and interacted with while others don't and prefer to be only handled if necessary meaning clipping their nails and bathing them is a tough job. I have been lucky enough to have one of each and with my holistic work Ash has built a better bond with me that she doesn't mind being handled for a few minutes and having a bath without trying to take one of my fingers off 😅 whereas Eivor will gladly sit with you and be petted while watching tv and cuddle 😅 I just want to put out to everyone thinking about adopting one of these guys as a pet they are commitment like all other pets, they can be shy and sometimes grumpy, they can have expensive vet care, they can come with illnesses that will shorten their life like my Noah passed away last year from wobbly hedgehog syndrome and it's heartbreaking but most of all they need time and patience from you 🙏 I think everyone should experience the joy any animal can bring to your life just remember you're their world and they need you to care for them and love them for who they are and not try to make them be what you want them to be as they are all energies like us and we aren't all the same 🤗

Our handsome Koda for his first groom with Emily from Just Paws and of course working the camera angles 😅 We can't recommend her enough Koda is a nervous puppy and new experiences are always a little frightening for him but he was so happy coming home and not stressed or upset he got loads of cuddles and treats he would've been happy enough to stay 😄

Hello and welcome to the beginning of a very exciting journey! 

My name is Emily. I'm a dog groomer and proud owner of Just Paws.

I've just finished a QQI Level 6 Animal Grooming qualification from Creedons College and have a diploma in Canine Communication. 

In 2021, I graduated from UCD with a BCL (Law with Social Justice) Degree, but dog grooming is something I have always wanted to do. I decided life is too short so I'm going to do what makes me happy.

With Just Paws I hope to create a calming, enjoyable and stress-free grooming experience for dogs and their humans alike. For me, the dog comes first. I want to help them and you to not hate or dread coming to the groomers, but to begin to look forward to and enjoy it! 

I'm so excited to begin this journey and am delighted to bring you along with me.

A massive thank you to everyone for the lovely response for my Animal Guidance Cards they are in the final stages of being completed and will be here very very soon a little sneak peak for you all of the Bear Spirit and an insight into the guidance and care the Animal Spirits will give 🐾❤️ I had to rope Ben in on the laptop to look over designs with me I could not ask for better help he's very efficient and honest, he's expensive working for no less than three slices of cucumber an hour but a hard worker 😅

Happy International Women's Day everyone and to all you strong female animals out there also ❤️ For this day I decided to post pictures of Betty our amazing five years old guinea pig as she is our Queen of the herd, she is strong, fiercely independent and keeps everyone in line to make sure they're safe, Betty has overcome many challenges in her life she was pregnant at three months old and gave birth to our beautiful baby snowbell without knowing how to look after her but with some help she raised a confident little piggie unfortunately Betty then saw her daughter become ill and having to be taken to various vet appointments where she had an operation to drain two ovarian cysts but she passed away in her sleep right in front of her, as you imagine Betty took it hard and wasn't fussed on life for weeks after that but then Emily blessed us with three gorgeous baby piggies and Betty found the good in life once more, even an animal can go through hard times but get back up again and again I think there's something we can learn from them so raise you're voice ladies make sure you are heard and show the world what you're made of like Betty ❤️

Our two boys Leon and Lex 6 months old already 😧😅 male guinea pigs tend to get a bad wrap for fighting with each other and causing chaos but when you find the right pair they are honestly the most fun to watch and listen to with the rumbling, squeaking and playing 😍 I find that my boys are less trouble than my girls because the girls are so headstrong and don't back down from an eating lettuce the fastest challenge 🤣

Ash's eye fully healed it is really only noticable when she's asleep on her side but as she's whizzing around you can barely see it at all she is living her life without it bothering her she's just a little more cautious when running around especially in her exercise wheel but that's all and I have to say I think it's pretty cool having a pirate hedgehog especially for a roommate 🦔😍

Last year we were faced with many heartbreaking loses and challenges unfortunately I had to say goodbye to my handsome guinea pig Sonnie, our beautiful mammy bun Belle and also our gorgeous baby Blue so unexpectedly but the heartache didn't stop there, after my usual bedtime routine with the piggies I went to feed the hedgies as always and found Ash's wheel, the floor of her enclosure and her face covered in blood after rushing her out to the emergency vet we we're told her eye has ruptured and it will need to be removed but by a specialist in Bray so the next day we flew up the motorway praying to all the animal spirits to keep her safe and get her home, after emergency surgery she came through but had lost a lot of blood so she was taking time to come around thankfully the spirits kept her safe and she came home two days later, she is now loving life and living happily as a pirate hedgehog but her behavior towards me has changed she is now very affectionate and she is so grateful I didn't give up on her and chose the surgery to save her I couldn't let her go without trying and I am so grateful to her vet for giving my lovely hedgehog the best chance, it has taught us all that we really don't know what could happen when it comes to pets and they are so worth the joy they bring to our lives and the heartache when they leave but they are always with us be it in this world or the next 🦔🦔
