Jade is a small, female, black longhaired cat. She has been missing from Glynn since 31/5/24. There was a possible sighting on the 14th at Polehore, Killurin. She is a timid cat. She is microchipped and neutered. Her family are very worried about her. If anyone sees her please give us a call.

🐾✈️ How to Get an Pet Passport for Your Furry Friend! 🐶🐱

Getting a pet passport is a crucial step if you plan to travel abroad with your furry friend. Here are the simple steps to ensure your furry companion is ready for international travel:

🟢Visit Your Vet for the Pet Passport: Visit us well in advance of your trip.

🟢Microchipping: Your pet must be microchipped and registered on an Irish microchip database. This is a requirement for identification purposes. The microchip must be implanted before the rabies vaccine can be administered.

🟢Your Vet will issue your Pet’s Passport: Your vet will fill out the necessary details, including the microchip number, vaccination dates, and other essential health information.

🟢Rabies Vaccination: This vaccination must be done at least 30 days before travel. If your pet has had a rabies vaccination before, ensure it is still valid and that the booster shots are up-to-date.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH MY PET’S EARS? 🐶😺

Ear problems in pets, particularly in dogs and cats, can arise from a variety of causes, leading to discomfort and, if left untreated, more severe health issues.

Here are some of the leading causes of ear problems in cats and dogs:

🔸Allergies: Often, allergies to food, the environment, or specific substances can lead to inflammation and infection in the ears.
🔸Ear Mites: Tiny parasites that are particularly common in puppies and can cause intense itching and irritation.
🔸Bacterial Infections: Bacteria can proliferate in a pet's ear, especially in warm, moist environments, leading to infections.
🔸Yeast Infections: Similar to bacterial infections, yeast can overgrow in the ears, causing itching, redness, and a distinct odour.
🔸Foreign Bodies: Grass seeds, dirt, or other small objects can become lodged in the ear canal, causing discomfort and potential infections.
🔸Excessive Moisture: Dogs that swim frequently or have ears that trap moisture can develop infections due to the damp environment.
🔸Improper Cleaning: Over-cleaning or incorrect cleaning methods can irritate the ear canal, while under-cleaning can allow wax and debris to build up, leading to infections.
🔸Physical Trauma: Injury to the ear or head can lead to secondary infections or problems within the ear canal, as well as conditions such as an aural haematoma.

💚❤️Bob the Red Tegu at Highfield Navan❤️💚

We are thrilled to share an uplifting update about Bob, the charismatic red tegu, who recently had quite an adventure with our incredible exotics vet, Marta in Highfield Navan. After noticing something was amiss, it was discovered that Bob was dealing with a troublesome blockage that needed immediate attention.

Thanks to Marta's expertise and swift action, Bob underwent a series of X-rays followed by an exploratory laparotomy (ex-lap) to remove the blockage. It was a tense time, but we're overjoyed to announce that the procedure was a success! 🙌

Bob is now back home, basking under his heat lamp and doing wonderfully well in recovery. His spirits are high, and he's showing that nothing can keep a good tegu down!
