Siblings Maisie and Teddy were in with nurse Katie this morning to get their stitches removed after being neutered 10 days ago 💖🐾💕

They were very well behaved during the recovery period and both wounds healed perfectly ⭐️

As you can see they are both very happy to have their buster collars removed and be able to get back to normal 💕

Lucky visited us today for her neutering! How beautiful are her eyes? 😍 💎

There are significant benefits to spaying female dogs, especially before their first or second heat (oestrus) cycle.

Aside from eliminating the risk of surprise or unwanted pregnancies, spayed dogs have significantly lower mammary cancer rates and the complete removal of the uterus eliminates the risk of a potentially life-threatening infection called pyometra as well as uterine cancers.

Missy was in with us the other day for orthopaedic surgery to correct her patellar luxation on one of her knees 🦴💖🦴

We wish her a speedy recovery and will see her in about 12 weeks, when she will have the same surgery on her other knee 🐾💕💖

They had Katie and Lucia wrapped around their paws with them and got plenty of treats after their appointment this morning 🐾🐕‍🦺💖

These gorgeous sisters Mary and Jojo were in with us a couple of weeks ago to be spayed 🐾

This is a shocking example of the damage an off lead or roaming dog can do to a sheep 🐑

This mother has just lambed in the last couple of months and is trying to look after her babies and is now suffering from these wounds that she sustained in a dog attack.

It is a miracle that she survived and her lambs weren’t harmed! She does have a long road to recovery ahead of her but hopefully she pulls through with no lasting problems 🐑

❗️Reminder to all dog owners the importance of keeping dogs on leads and kept securely where they cannot escape and roam ❗️

How cute are these 8 border collies who were in to be microchipped 💖

They will be back in with us in a couple of weeks to receive their first vaccination before they head off to their new homes.

If you fell in love with them like we did, you will be happy to hear that they will be advertised to go to new homes soon 🐾🐾

Meet Rocky! 🐕 (Swipe for some surgery pics) 😷

He was in with us last week as he was feeling very poorly and needed emergency surgery.

It turns out he had eaten a full dip container we might pick up from fast food restaurants!

Thankfully, he's recovering well, and we hope he will stick to his diet from now on! 🐶

Nurse Katie performing a faecal egg count on a faecal sample from a sheep 🐑🪱

It is recommended to perform faecal egg testing to make sure you are dosing correctly on your farm and identify any resistance in the flock.

Make sure to drop in a sample to Katie before you dose or if you have any concerns about worms in the flock 🐑

Results should be given on the same day if the sample is dropped in early!

We had the lovely Bart in with us last week, at 8 years old he's found his forever home after a difficult start in life. In his new home he's learned how to play for the first time.

He was extra patient and calm given what he's been through and got plenty of TLC and treats from our staff!

Pippin was in today for a descale and polish with Lucia and left feeling and looking fresh!

Like humans, dogs can develop a build-up of tartar, leading to tooth decay and gum disease.

Brushing your dog’s teeth once or twice a day is the best option for good oral hygiene. Nematodirus only affects lambs as ewes have a strong immunity. The parasite develops to its infective form within the egg, which is thick-walled and very resistant to damage. Hatching requires a specific set of environmental conditions, namely freezing, followed by a temperature exceeding 100C for several days. When this occurs, eggs can hatch en masse very quickly, providing a sudden and very high infection challenge. This is known as the ‘spring flush’ and often coincides with lambs becoming more reliant on grazed grass at 6 – 8 weeks old.
