This is what it's all about for me!
This is why horses absolutely need a partner and not be kept alone - not just for the grooming, but it is so much more than that!

When horses groom each other it has both emotional and physical benefits for them including social Bonding, Hierarchical Reinforcement, stress reduction and security. They are herd animals and require this basic need of partnership.

In a herd environment this is key to establishing an order and so important to watch who grooms who.

These two are both very dominant mares in my herd and my favourite two horses also! ❤️
