Foundations are key. In my experience, practicing at home first to get it right is key. Being outside presents your dog with so many distractions. Plan for success, not failure.

Not matter what, I always consult a professional; my poor trainer is basically on speed dial 🤣😂

Over the past 2 months, Princess’ confidence has skyrocketed.

We are so lucky to have such an amazing community around us that has given Princess the opportunity to explore and meet new people and dogs at her own pace.

Now we move on to the next significant stage of training: recall. Wish me luck (Canaan dogs are notoriously stubborn)!!! 😂😳

Moving to London means a lot of for Princess. It means trips in 🚕🐾🇬🇧

It’s an extremely valuable service for us & the pricing is fabulous but it’s got a long way to go. It can take ages to get a ride, I need to order it 30 mins before we need to leave, and it’s not possible to prebook like other ride types.

While I try to be a very conscientious passenger by bringing a sheet to cover the seats, it has surprised me that so far none of the drivers have had anything themselves. One asked if P could go in the boot 🤦‍♀️ (The sheet was good enough for him tg 😉)

I was cautious about taking P into an enclosed space with strangers but she has been a superstar and is getting so used to it that she’s starting to relax & chill out. I think it’s time to invest in a proper dog seat belt 😁

Please welcome Princess to the family.

Princess is the next step I’m taking, in part, in my pledge to rescue & care for dogs in Mac’s memory.

Her story is long so I will be sharing titbits along the way but for now, enjoy her dazzling smile.
