A call from Digoda Gaon, Uran, Panvel. A Snake Catcher Yuraj Sharma who is also feeds the dogs and cats there suddenly found this pup in a very miserable state. The mother dog & siblings have all have died. Tejas A Ulvekar Guided him to us. He rushed the pup to us. The pup was very unstable, fortunately we were able to stabilise the pup after asking Dr. Amit & today eveing sir would perform amputation surgery. it is a Request to help us as we are in very bad need of Funds 🙏

This was another news article that came out yesterday. I think you are the only one brave enough to actually put one of their current photo. You can imagine the pain and suffering they are going through. All the dogs were fed and taken care of by the couple Sunil and Rashmee Madhavi, then why?? Why so much hatred?

Truly grateful to Mid-day reporter Anurag Kamble for this article in today’s newspaper. Wouldn’t have been possible without Upala Bose Roy ( writer/ Animal Activist & feeder/ caregiver) who made sure they give us a proper space on a page. I wish more newspapers would come forward to do this story. I understand FIR is necessary but we can’t do two things at a time. Rescuing, treating the victims is more important. Only if more activists would have tried to help us would have easily got the FIR done. Nonetheless Feeder Sunil Madhvi who first saw the dogs which wounds and me are going to the Uran Police station to give an application for FIR.

Lastly would also like to thank for putting in a good word and getting Anurag to do the article. Awareness is a necessity of the hour. Don’t make life hell for innocent animals who are already struggling to survive on their own. Be kind and compassionate.

Update: 4 more dogs have been rescued in the past 2 days. Trying to locate the rest. Total 12 survivors are being treated at Hands That Heal Animal Care Foundation

In the heart of Uran, a chilling darkness has descended upon 25 innocent dogs, victims of a heinous acid attack.

The incident was first reported by Sunil and Rashmi Madhavi, who are also feeders in the area. They witnessed their unimaginable suffering and called out for help. 8 survivors have been rescued and brought to us at Hands That Heal Animal care foundation.
They are currently clinging onto their lives, in immense pain. Our team here is trying the very best to help them and ensure proper treatment.
You can see the pain and suffering etched in their eyes, almost like a plea to the world. How long will we treat the voiceless like this? The horrors of human depravity knows no depth but can we find light in such times?

The images are not for the faint-hearted; they are a reminder of the brutality that stains our shared existence.

The numbers of animal cruelty cases continue to climb. It's a call to action, a plea to look beyond our own concerns and extend compassion to those who cannot speak for themselves.

So last month, we had the privilege to visit J.M.L School, Khar to raise awareness for rescued animals, and we couldn't be more excited to share our experience with you! It was heartwarming to witness the next generation already aware and passionate about the welfare of our furry friends.

The children's enthusiasm was truly infectious, as they shared their own heartwarming rescue stories. Their eyes were filled with hope, empathy and compassion. The batch also contributed to donate towards our cause. Because of which we could buy the high pressure washer used to clean the entire shelter. It had become a need of the hour to utilise time.

But, the credit for this inspiring initiative goes to their principal, Mrs. Damyanti Bhattacharya, who herself works towards the well-being of community animals. 👏 It got us thinking – what if we all had more teachers like her in our lives? Those who instill compassion, kindness, and empathy in our hearts from a young age. 📚🌎 Maybe, just maybe, the world could become a better place, not just for animals but for all living beings.

A sad reality of pets abandoned in the old age!

Wh**ey’s story begins about 13-14 years ago. It started when her Papa, a kind-hearted man, went to the market, saw her in a shop and decided to bring her home. They shared a beautiful bond, but tragically, he passed away suddenly.

In his absence, his daughter took care of Wh**ey for 4 years. However, things changed when a baby arrived in her home. Wh**ey was shifted to her previous home with her Papa’s wife and son. Sadly, no one wanted to take her responsibility.

As the years went by, Wh**ey grew old, and she developed health issues, including difficulty controlling her bladder. Her skin also started to deteriorate. While the family claimed to care for her, the reality was different. We decided to intervene & arranged for her rehabilitation.

& , two caring individuals, helped to get her to Hands That Heal. Wh**ey finally found a place where she will be loved & cared for.

We made sure she feels comfortable & at ease. She was given a delicious meal, soft liver rice, and slept like a small baby that night. It was a night of comfort and relief she hadn't experienced in a long time.

Yesterday, Wh**ey received a medicated bath and had her nails properly trimmed. Today, she's off for a checkup to address her skin issues. Her previous family has surrendered her, and sent 10k as a contribution but want daily updates on her well-being. Do you think I should? she is now sleeping on my bed, being fed by hand due to her failing vision. Old age is truly a curse for pets like her.

Please keep this tiny lady in your prayers as she embarks on a new chapter, she is in the prayers of those who care about her, and there is extreme gratitude for the for helping with her transportation and always being there for animals in distress.

Though we have really good dry rooms for all the kids to sleep. The weather is warm and cozy here. All the dogs like to sleep on something elevated like this. These beds cost us INR 1500/- per bed if we take in bulk. We need at least 26 beds to keep in all the rooms. Cooling beds are very expensive so this becomes cost effective as many dogs can fit in and sleep comfortably.

Yes, you read it right! The god of mountains is here. Had to name him Inosuke. He is such a cutie! A bit shy and scared, but we hope we can give him the care and love he deserves.

Two days ago, a couple of boys came inside a building premises in Kalyan and threw him near the garbage area with his legs tied. Fortunately, the security guard saw this and immediately informed Abhishek Bhaumik, a resident of that building. With his help, they were able to catch the culprits. There are many people involved in making sure he was safe. Thank you, KDMC, for keeping him safe overnight. , thank you for helping with his transport and always coming forward to help with rescues and rescuers when nobody else does. And lastly, thank you, Abhishek, for rescuing him and making sure of his safety. Yes, he is afraid of human touch, but we are hopeful that with time we help him heal. That being said, I feel elated and excited to welcome him to our home 🥹

It’s really unfortunate to say that things are getting tough at the Hands That Heal Animal Care Foundation. The number of emergency rescues is increasing every day, and it's getting hard to keep up. To make matters worse, some people are taking advantage of the situation, dumping animals and not helping out with funds.

We've got a serious medical bill that's just going up and up. It's going to touch 2 lakhs in just a couple of weeks! And there's a pending electricity bill of 25k that's just adding to our stress. Plus, we're short-staffed and it's just too hot outside to keep working like this.

People are dumping kittens, birds, rabbits and puppies left, right, and center outside our gate. We're trying our best to help out, but we can't do it alone. So, we're hoping that you guys can step in and help us out.

Indu, a blind female puppy then, was brought to Hands That Heal Animal Care Foundation by Indira Vyas, who rescued her from the streets. Despite her disability, she is incredibly smart and has figured out the entire farm using her other senses.

As she recovered and grew up, Indu has became an important part of our family at the shelter home. She is playful and affectionate, and her intelligence never ceases to amaze us.

Although we have over 300 animals at the shelter home, we do our best to care for each one individually. However, it's important to remember that there are always limitations on time, resources, and energy.

While providing regular updates is important to keep supporters informed about the animals' progress and needs, it's equally important to prioritize caring for the animals themselves. It's a delicate balance, and every shelter home has to make its own decision based on its resources and priorities.

Indu's story is a reminder that with a little love and care, even the most vulnerable animals can overcome their challenges and lead happy lives.

I would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the veterinary team involved in this research. Your expertise, professionalism, and compassion were evident throughout the entire process. We are fortunate to have such dedicated professionals in our community who are committed to improving the health and well-being of our pets.
