June 15 2021 - Thanks to Reliance Foundation and a Generous donor from Hyderabad, we distributed Ration kits at the Karalekatte villiage, Kollegal Taluk
The second wave of Covid has kept us on our toes.
Since the inauguration of the first Covid Care Centre at Jigani on 3rd May, we've opened two more. One in Chandrapura and another in Indlawadi. The three CCCs together have a 200-bed capacity that has recently been further bolstered with the donation of an 140LPM oxygen generator by Toyota. To date, almost 500 patients have been treated at these centres. A total of 11 doctors and 15 nursing staff are available 24x7 across the three centres.
We'd like to thank our main funding partners One Billion Literates Foundation and Entrepreneurs Organisation for their support towards our Covid Care Centers.
All three CCCs serve only the economically vulnerable and are ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐๐ญ๐๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐๐ซ๐๐ ๐จ๐ ๐๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ for the patients. We continue to accepts funds to serve our patients.

We look forward to your support that has now kept us going for over 15 months!
June 14 2021 - Huge shoutout to Givaudan, India for helping us and sponsoring Covid-19 vaccination for residents of Sipani Seva Sadan - Home for the Homeless. Their generousity is greatly appreciated.
Last week, Enablers United received a whopping 3000 ration kits from Reliance. That's four truckloads of pre-packed rice, daal, atta, spices, cooking oil, salt, sugar all earmarked for a despatch to thousands of economically vulnerable families in Anekal. Distribution will start in the coming week.
While we are excited that such a large section gets served so quickly, the further extension of the lockdown continues to keep lakhs of people unemployed and hungry.
TL;DR: PLEASE DONATE. As much as you can, as soon as you can. The more kits we can make, the more communities we can reach out to.

On May 11th 2021, Enablers United inaugurated the Jigani Covid Care Centre. Funded by the One Billion Literate Foundation and individual funders and companies from the Jigani Industrial Association, the 50-bed centre is currently running to capacity.
The Jigani CCC is a ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐๐ญ๐๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐๐ซ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ with a minimum of 2 doctors, 2 nursing staff, and housekeeping available 24x7. The centre provides 3 meals a day with snacks, fruits, eggs, and is equipped with a tea/coffee dispenser for round the clock usage.
The facility has ๐ญ๐๐ง 10ltrpm oxygen concentrators, ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฑ๐ญ๐๐๐ง 5ltrpm oxygen concentrators, and ๐๐ jumbo oxygen cylinders for anyone requiring critical support. So far, six patients have been successfully discharged, with more going home healthy in the days to come.
The CCC takes in mild to moderate cases with an oxygen saturation of above 85. If they are less than 85, we don't turn them away but do our best to support them with medical care and oxygen until they find a hospital bed.
We are always looking for more funds and corporate sponsors. Bank account details:

We thought our job was done running the 48 bed CCC last year. Little did we know we would be back with 148 beds this year.
We worked hard at the ground level last year and took a break from all things online.
We were tired, did not have time, and did not post much, but we are back.
Lets start with what we did in the past year, and then what we are getting done on the ground now.
Look forward to your support.

Leo is found and back at home with his parents. He's all fine and healthy, a little smelly though. Thank you all for your support, concern and efforts to reunite Leo with his family.
This boxer cross indie is up for adoption. She's 3 years old and has been spayed and vaccinated. She was left on the road with an egg and ten rupees tied up to her collar. She is extremely friendly and good tempered. Give us a call on 9036660660 if you're interested in adopting her.
The day before yesterday we had 15 migrants who had been living on the roads in Whitefield come in to Fullinfaws College shelter in Akshayanagar. They stayed a night and were lucky to have been treated well for atleast a night before they left in the morning to catch a train back home. We had to send 15 of them back to Whitefield and were looking for transportation. The auto guys were back at their game and were asking for 1200 rupees per auto to travel the distance. We took help from the Hulimavu Police station booked a TT and sent them back paying much less. We spent the first half of the day coordinating their transportation after which the entire team at Axxonet packed the cooked food for 1500 people, which was later distributed at lunch time to migrants at Jigani, Hulimavu and Palace grounds. Immediately after this the evening dinner had to be packed again and the wonderful migrant folk sheltered at Fullinfaws College helped us get that done. We were out till 2.30 at night making sure every migrant we found living on the road had food and water. Till date we've had a very good experience working with the police in the south of Bengaluru in areas like Hulimavu, SG Palya, Bismillah Nagar, Gurrapanpalya, Jigani, Anekal, BG road who have been very sensitive to the needs of the people. Unfortunately last night we were chased out by the police of the Yeshwanthpur railway station limits while feeding hungry migrants at 1.30 at night. They hadn't eaten yet and it's a shame that the police there thought these migrants who they consider infected with Corona should go die somewhere else. While the police near Palace grounds though "doing their duty" were asking migrants not to camp outside the gates. These folks had come walking from very far off places and didn't have any shelter in the city to go back to. Not sure where they were expected to go. Pregnant women, small children, and entire families camping on the road at night for days in the hope to go home, were being made to shift from the right side of the road to the left to avoid the police from sending them elsewhere. They didn't have food or water to drink at night... something needs to be done.
The amazing thing about the Jigani area is that we have not recieved a single call on the Enablers United hotline number because the ground teams and the police have put in tremendous work to ensure that everyone in the area gets meals and ration kits. Today, we distributed 620 ration kits to migrants in Jigani. Due to the uncertainty regarding their future, these migrants are desperate to go back to their hometowns. But with the help of Jigani police and Red Cross, we have been able to do our best to take care of their basic needs until the lockdown is lifted.
Help the migrants, homeless and the destitute sleep with a filled stomach today. We appreciate your care and love for your fellow citizens. https://enablersunited.org/covid-19-doante/
Just to make sure we're reaching those untouched individuals in need, we make the extra effort of actually going right out there in the middle of nowhere to get the job done...
Hey we've stopped numbering the days... We're short of hands to do the regular updates and typing for us. However, we'd like to let you all know that we've been working hard to get ration kits, cooked food, snacks and dog food out there to migrants, quarantined individuals, extremely poor people and many many animals (in that order). We've given out another 650 rations kits over the last 3 days, 200 snack packets, 9000 cooked meals and fed about close to 900 dogs in the last three days.
We'll be distributing another 1500+ rations kits over next three days...
Thank you all for your support and wishes.

Day 23: we prepared for day 24. 3500 food packets were distributed to hungry folks as usual and many many hungry dogs were fed. Almost 400 of them. Tokens for the 1500 ration kits being sponsored by Infosys Foundation were distributed.
Lots of work goes on in the background to make sure these kits reach the really needy. House to house checks are done, we confirm what groceries are available with people, checks to see if they have received any aid in the recent past then we collect their names and phone numbers just to maintain a record.
We take local volunteer help and police support everywhere we go to make sure we can control the crowds and maintain social distancing. And then the out come is what happens on day 24.
Day 24: We distributed 1600 food ration kits in remote villages around the Jigani, Bannerghatta road and Anekal area. 1500 of the kits were supplied by Infosys Foundation and a 100 by us. A big shout out and thank you to Nilu Kulkarni for putting us in touch with the Infosys Foundation.
We also distributed 3450 cooked food packets and fed about 500 dogs. Long days and longer nights preparing for the next day. It's a lot of work but we're more than happy to do it.
Thank you to everyone who's supporting the cause in whichever way you are.
After the crazy summer rains last night in Namma Bengaluru, we spent this beautiful morning with the oh-so-famous Bangalore weather doing our bit to make the COVID-19 situation slightly better for some people. We distributed 1600 ration kits in Jigani and Anekal, supported by Infosys foundation. How did you spend your day? :)

Dr. Dakshayini Vishwas, K.A.S, the AC of Ramanagara organized a drive to make sure that the migrant daily wagers who weren't included in the PDS system were provided with raiton kits from NGOs and their own administration. We at Enablers United delivered 120 ration kits today at Ramnagara, including to a family that were stuck in a school since the 21st of March.
Today, we handed over 120 food kits to daily wagers at Athmiya Geleyara Balaga near Mahalakshmi Layout amidst the continued -19 lockdown. Following social distancing protocols, we handed 4 kits per minute to each of the workers. It was a good day for service :)
What we've been up to during the lockdown: Distributing ration kits & cooked food packs to people, preparing a whole lot of dog food and feeding dogs at night and preparing more ration kits...
Day 12:
1500 people fed.
400+ dogs fed.
400 more BPL people in Bidadi, including a large number of marginalised pourakarmikas got their provision kits.
Every day, more and more roads are closed, but we're finding a way to go where we have to go.
The second video and photo are of more badass preparations and packing for the next trip to Bidadi, day after tomorrow. All of tomorrow is packing.
Special shout-out to some great folks who are helping out, reaching out, lending a hand or a shoulder (metaphorical) to cry on:
Tanya Jairaj for being a one-woman army of mad strength and perseverance. The awe-inspiring Vishal Talreja for everything he does to quietly support people around him. Mohammed Azmat, who by no means is the small man he claims to be. (Giggle.) Roshni Venkatesh for reaching out regularly with tips and leads.
Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow creeps at this petty pace, so there is always time to see some of the good in all this gob-smacking mayhem.
Thank you,
Team Enablers United
This is a very special post.
In all our updates about the relief work, we share pictures of the dogs being fed, not of the people cooking for and feeding them. So here they are!
Shiva, Madan, Naveen, and Manoj are the four reasons why between 400 and 600 dogs have been getting a meal a day, since the lockdown. It must be said that all four of them work and entire day at Bozo Wags Veterinary Clinic, before setting out at night, to feed the dogs.
We want to reiterate that, with a day's notice, we have the ability to prepare extra food for those who have community dogs who aren't getting food. You will need to:
1. Call us a day in advance
2. If we're able to cook that number, come and pick it up the next evening from the clinic. BYOB (Bring Your Own Bucket).

Enablers United started a human relief and dog feeding programme on 31st March, in light of the terrible toll that the Covid lockdown is taking on people below the poverty line, and community dogs, who live off human excess in urban areas. A trusted donor, Smitha Sumanth, gave us our first donation to this end and, along with her associate Pradeep Reddy, we were able to lay the foundation. On Day 1, we fed 60 people and 100 dogs. Word got around and, within hours, we were getting calls from all over the city.
As of today -- Day 8 -- we are feeding about 1200 people and 400-600 dogs across the city. We are also handling a large-scale situation in Bidadi, where over 3000 migrant and displaced workers are struggling to survive. We are aiming to provide them with provision kits that will them at least a week to 10 days each.
Enablers United is proud to be associated with Atria Foundation, icare, and the Covid Relief Task Force that serves Karnataka.
