Honesty in your communications and honesty in the products that you're trying to sell to your consumers goes a long way in building trust in your brand.

When we started out to build Those Woof Guys! in 2020, we were bootstrapped (we still are), and cashflow was always a problem, we never compromised on the quality of what we were providing to the end consumer, in our case, these were the dogs of our customers.

There were cheaper alternatives available than buying skinless chicken or organs, an example would be to buy the chicken carcasses (literally 1/6 the cost of skinless chicken) and then grind them to a pulp using a 2.0 HP grinding machine, and we would get away because no one would be able to tell the difference. In terms of feel and texture, the dogs would just be able to smell chicken, to trick them, we could always have sprinkled some fish powder (that thing acts like a pheromone, trust me).

But it did not feel right to us.

Achieving profitability quickly was the goal (we have been profitable from month 4 of launch), but not at the cost of honesty or trust.

Truth and honesty. Nothing else will win.

PS: Uploading a snap of the bill that come with our purchases twice a week. Maa kasam, sach bol raha hoon! 😁

PPS: Holy cow, just realised that we go through close to 300 kgs of just chicken a month! Add other meats like mutton, lamb, fish and non meats like paneer and egg, we must be processing over a tonne of just meats a month! 😅

Straight from the horse’s mouth!

What would happen if you fed your dog🐶 245 cloves of garlic🧄 in a week??

21 years ago an experiment was conducted by Japanese scientists🇯🇵 who wanted to know what would happen if dogs were fed lots of Garlic Extract🧄💦 for 7 days straight.

At the end of the trial, NO dogs died.🙏

In fact, none of the dogs even showed any symptoms, but the scientists found microscopic🔬 changes in some red blood cells🩸, leading to the conclusion that garlic may be toxic☠️ to dogs.

How much garlic extract was fed to these dogs in the study, you ask? Well it would be the equivalent of feeding a 70lb golden retriever🐕 245 cloves of garlic for one week (2.46lbs of raw garlic).

Since then, the ASPCA, American Kennel Club, HSUS and most online pet resources continue to say “garlic is toxic to pets," but garlic is listed as a safe pet food ingredient by the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO). Confused? So are most pet lovers around the world.

Let’s make something very clear.

The reason that Paleo Programme was started was that one size does not fit all. What’s good for Bruno is not okay for Caesar, whose requirements may be very different from Rocky, who may have diametrically opposite needs to Ace.

The point we are trying to make is that we invest a substantial amount of time and energy into understanding each dog. We have long conversations with the parents, and we understand requirements by doing a immersion into the history and context of the dog before we suggest meal plans.

Sometimes, we even question the parents why they are coming to us if they are cooking such healthy food already! Sometimes, we suggest a holistic approach which is a combination of diet and exercise and therapy.

We are NOT about money. For us, your dogs, our dogs, all dogs are firmly centre and forward.

Can we scale up using this? No. This is not a scalable model, because every packet is handmade and every pack of food is sealed by hand. No machine made garbage. But that’s the beauty of our food. It’s healthy, it’s nutritious, it’s JUST right for your pupper.
